19:48 this is an absolute master class in defense. I don't think people realize just how powerful those strikes were that Santos threw. For a split-second Jones was shuffled off balance from the barrage of punches, and immediately transitioned to a perfect stance that can either be used offensively or, what Jones did and display more fantastic defense which sends your opponent into the fence. Unreal.

@Elias-xh8xm3 жыл бұрын
@@cedtheman1990 Part of being a mixed martial artist or fan of this sport, is having an objective opinion about things. The better man coming out of the fight between two, should also rightfully deserve the mention of being the winner of it. If you take the rose tinted glasses off, put your bias aside, you will realise that the two mentionned fights of Reyes and Gustafsson can 99 out of 100 times be awarded them instead of Jon, for very valid and apparent reasons. Highly controversial wins are something that happened eversince the sport existed, because judges dont represent the opinion of the majority and are prone to doing some fatal mistakes. Sure you can say in this example that Jon beat Reyes/Gustafsson but you have to live with the fact that both of them looked better and did more in that fight. Hence, why you need to think twice before you start worshipping someone, to the point of neglecting obvious facts that show the truth, yet be that heavily biased even when knowing you are wrong. Everyone saw the fight with his own eyes, you are only fooling yourself. I think some people need to really remember, what martial arts and combat sport is all about.

I don’t get why some people doesn’t think he’s the GOAT. And even some, with a ill tongue, says that he doesn’t deserve to be in top 5. Which is incredulous. Usually, when you ask “Why?” They don’t have very much reason to say at all, other than PEDs (which is quite bold to say in a sports where weight cuts, bulks are all done with sublime ease) or that he fights old “out of prime” foes. Which is quite odd to say considering that most MMA fighters prime are in their 30s, and beating legends (like Machida, Shogun, Rampage, DC) right after they’ve won their previous fights are amazing on its own. I have written far too long undoubtedly, but next time you meet someone that doesn’t place Jones in the same regard as GSP, Anderson Silva, Fedor and Mighty Mouse. Ask them “Why?” If they respond with two of those reasons I’ve mentioned. You’re not dealing with a person of reason, you’re dealing with a person of contempt. A person that hates Jones for who he is out of the cage, and for that. Hates him in it. A person who can’t separate the art from the artist. A person who denies the truth, even when it is staring right at their face.
