I just bought this game and not only am I excited to play it but the component quality is also excellent but...The number and types of cards stated in the rulebook don't match the actual cards in my box?! I've counted and recounted but still can't work out if cards are missing and/or which specific ones. Presently don't know if I've even got duplicates or too many of some and others just missing. Waiting for a reply from customer service but hoped there might be a simple answer? Superb game though. Can't wait to play it!!!

I actually bought this game off the BGG market place a couple weeks ago since I'd heard it was sold out at the distributor level. I imagine the next printing is being fast tracked.
@shatnershairpiece4 жыл бұрын
JonGetsGames Looks like next printing would be near end of February and will correct the miss printed cards. Capstone says this is also going to be a small print run that will not meet demands. I don’t understand this. They know that this designer’s games are popular yet since October it has barely been visible, or visible for two seconds before it sold out. Up here in Canada I saw a total of 4 copies between 4 stores, including 2 online. I guess the one advantage is that by the time the game is actually available eight months after it was released, I’m so tired of waiting and reading about it that I have already moved onto the next thing. Have you realized that your play Throughs are also working as a pseudo gameplay experience for people that will never own the game? It’s like you watch it and you feel that you almost played it, thereby saving yourself $100.

At 38:38 the green player engaged in combat. The combat card said if the 3rd place country is chosen the player gets +3 combat. France and Spain had 1 & England had none. So England was chosen so the green player could receive the extra +3 combat. However, since France & Spain each have 1 wouldn’t they be tied for first place and England would be in second place. Which means there is no Country in 3rd place? Right...or wrong?
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting question. I looked it up again and it turns out the specific wording is "the player with the least ownership markers", not specifically "the nation in 3rd place". I feel like they should have used up and down arrows instead of 1. and 3. for those icons.

@ jongetsgames just starting my first game. From the symbology, when does a number on a shield mean increase on your VP Income track as opposed to increasing on the actual Victory Point Track. Similarly when does a number on a coin icon mean cash and when does it mean just moving up the income track? Finding your videos both helpful and entertaining. It's clear a lot of care and effort goes into producing them. Thank you.

Sorry, a quick question. In 38:48, aren't France & Spain both tied for the 1st place, as they each have a single cube on the map, and therefore England is not the third, but the second? (as a while before, you said that France is in the 1st place and Spain and England are tied for the 2nd place, so no one is in the 3rd).
@JonGetsGames3 жыл бұрын
Technically the bonus goes to the country in "last place", the iconography isn't great and I should have been more clear about that.

Hey Jon, Great run through. Did you go through this first round really quickly as a tutorial or was this "normal"? No one hit the villages or a few of the other cities. Just wondering.
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
From my experience this is about how the game usually plays. It's true that players could go WAY slower as long as everyone collectively decided to do that. This would make the game significantly longer, but players are incentivized by the mechanics to try and speed ahead. You get more village actions and if you think your opponent is getting more from this round then you are then rushing the end means you'll get more points then them and you can hopefully disrupt their plans.

This tutorial is very well made and pleasant but you made a mistake at setup : you shuffle the A and B decks before giving 8 cards to players. In game it make a huge difference cause you start with a "master builder" (a B card) which is the more powerful card of the game. Thanks for all your playthrough, I take a lot of pleasure to watch it and making my English better (I'm French). Fab

When doing the green combat a little before 39:43 you gave green 7 combat strength which you arrived at by adding the 3 bonus and the 4 from the ship. England had 0 strength from the card. After doing the resolutions green should only have 1 strength left not 2. Good play through thank you
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
My understanding here is they spent 4 of their 7 which left them with 3, and then they added 2 of their 4 strength to get to 5 to do a double influence. It looks to me like they should still end their turn with 2 strength unless I am still missing something.
