Jon, Your playthorughs seem more confident, quicker, and interesting. Thank you for your hard work and trying to improve! I'd just say that you can inject EVEN MORE of your personality in here, but possibly I'm in the minority on this. Thank you again!

I backed this and I'm a little nervous about the two tokens that represent a zombie or person that needs to be rescued for that one mission card. If one gets a little ding or marked somehow you'll always know which is which. That stinks.

Agreed. I admire Rhado's enthusiasm but the constant indecision and placing every possible permutation in front of me at every moment before a turn is exasperating. I cannot learn any game he attempts to teach me.
@get_the_lead_out5 жыл бұрын
What did me in for Rahdo is when he demoed a game almost a year ago (I think it was U-Boot but it’s been awhile). He went over the top gushing over how great and awesome the game is; then turned around and said he and his wife probably wouldn’t play it again because they’re not interested in that type of game. Sounded more like a sales pitch from a snake oil vendor than an even-handed review. Haven’t watched another of his videos since. I don’t mind people saying they don’t like a game - in fact I seek out negative reviews to hear both sides before making a purchase. But, don’t act one way, then contradict yourself.
@stephendavies33775 жыл бұрын
Jim Johnson He probably appreciated the dynamics/mechanics of the game but it was too conflict driven for him and his wife. They are adverse to conflict heavy games. That is not contradictory at all. That’s like me saying a women is beautiful but not my type because she always needs drama in her life.

im surprised people aren’t liking this game I love it and this is a great play through. I didn’t like the health thing at first but if you think about it it makes sense and it adds the danger you say is missing since you can guarantee a kill on a zombie. I think it’s a pretty cool idea, you’re running and gunning through zombies and you run out of ammo you’re dead. If zombies were real I would think killing them is pretty easy and just have to watch for taking damage. It’s just a different way to look at it. The rooms all connecting is odd I just got the game and you can see the art work that they added holes in walls or crumbled openings to try to make rooms connect no matter their position.

Thanks for the playthrough! :) I must say the game initially did seem to favor the human players by quite a large margin, so it's good to see that 1 bad turn is all it'll take to turn the playing field. However IMO the zombie player doesn't seem like he has much to do & is quite subjected to the luck of the draw, since he only redraw every 4 turns. I'm also not sure about the end game, as it doesn't seem very tense (ie: the zombie player could forsee his defeat 1 or even 2 turns prior).
@CreatureX996 жыл бұрын
Genesyx one thing to note was that Jon was passing out the search cards randomly. The zombie player can look at the cards they give to human player and can try to better match up the noise icons. Thus making the game harder for the humans.
@alienslysly6 жыл бұрын
Owh really? I thought he passed them out intentionally to make the game closer / have the ZP guess correctly ~50% of the time. Still I could see how the ZP may still fail at matching noise icons even with perfect deductions by pure luck of the draw.
@rmsgrey6 жыл бұрын
Two rules nits - at least for the 1.0 version of the pre-production rulebook: When you search in the courtyard, the card has to go into one of the 4 edge stores rather than into any of the 8 stores (though it doesn't matter where in the courtyard you are) When a player makes noise, the zombie player has to use one of their character abilities; there's no option to move instead.
@JonGetsGames6 жыл бұрын
This is a good illustration of why making playthroughs for un-published games can be a challenge, the rules tend to change abit before release!
@rmsgrey6 жыл бұрын
Had a feeling it might be something along those lines - even that version of the rulebook looks like it's going to change a little before final release - there's a space reserved for more to come, so at minimum that label is going to want to be changed...

You said when you get OverRun you must Move. Now does that mean you have to Move only on your turn or also when it is the Zombie Player's turn? What if you are out of Movement points, do you still Move?
@JonGetsGames6 жыл бұрын
This just means you have to move out of that room on your next turn. I think the emphasis here wasn't necessary since you always have to move anyway with the current rules so sorry for that causing some confusion. With a previous ruleset I believe you were able to attack a zombie in the room you start in and that is no longer the case.
@TheBbari6 жыл бұрын
So it means you can’t melee the zombie that overran you but you could run to the next store and turn back and shoot it

Correct me if im wrong, but when you put a zombie in the greaser’s room on the first turn arent you supposed to take a hit and move the greaser in a different room because of overrun? Or is this the KS rule before?

Really helpful for understanding the rules. It demonstrates how hard it is to keep track of the ruled alone. A second player can help catch these little slip ups.

Played this last night with a group. First played coop with AI zombie and got the the cards given to us purely randomly from the supply deck. Fun game experience. Played a second time and I was the zombie player. Wow it was fun. Two things in my control to try and thwart those pesky humans: First, I could double up or spread out placement of zombies into rooms to better cause overflow of zombies into barriers. I had their barrier down and killed both survivors within a few turns. That really put them on edge. Second, I had control of how cards were placed before players from my hand size of four cards. They had some objectives that required the radio cards and weapons for example. I rationed them out sparingly and to players who were not focused on that particular goal to lengthen the time it took them to complete. Oh you wanted that weapon? I made sure it spawned and then you got a "Explode Your Weapon" event card. boo hoo. hahahaha. The limit of only drawing up after all four of my cards were played meant I couldn't hold them off forever, but it was a balanced and fun way for me to try and delay their goals. Watching the supply deck dwindle gives me great satisfaction as running out of cards means Zombies win. Muahahhaha! I didn't know I had it in me.

One of the search cards makes no sense. It says if you perform a ranged attack you may instead spend 2 ammo to kill 2 zombies in rooms adjacent to you. So where is the advantage? By default any player can spend 2 ammo to kill 2 zombies in rooms adjacent to you. I'm gonna double down on the attacks with this card.
@supernova63986 жыл бұрын
As my understanding, by default you able to do 1 Move and then do 1 Action, which if you choose to do Ranged Attack: then you will spend an ammo and kill 1 zombie in an adjacent room. With the search card you mentioned, I believe the advantage would be: you can kill 2 zombies in 2 adjacent rooms by ONLY USING ONE Move-Action. With the default, you have to Move again and do another Ranged Attack to kill the 2nd/another zombie.

Thanks! Cleared up many things for me! Can't wait to play
@Hogman8008 ай бұрын
At the 23:02 time the player can do that action and continue to move since it’s not a room action with the stop sign. The scientist should gain one ammo and continue to move in this scenario

At 8:50 you say the zombies take a turn "between every one of the human players actions". (Note I put no apostrophe there since whether it's "players'" or "player's" matters and is not immediately clear. That would literally mean that a human player takes one of their three moves, then the zombie does, then the human does their second, and then the zombie player, and then the human performs their third. Instead, you should have said that the zombies take their turn "between every one of the human players' turns".
@JonGetsBored6 жыл бұрын
Yep, that would have been a better word to use but I think it's clear how this works by watching how the turn sequences go in the video.
@Keithustus6 жыл бұрын
No problem. Your videos are so fantastic that I just wanted to leave a record of such a tiny correction, since others may otherwise use your narration as gospel.
@Expersprobi6 жыл бұрын
At 59:15 the Zombie player should have won the game. Both zombies placed in the game store would have skipped a space because of the greaser ability, the first would have filled the game store and the second would have killed the barricade (based on the greaser ability and the note about the misplaced zombie). It would have brought their barricade to 0. Excellent play through though, I'm really enjoying your content lately.
@JonGetsGames6 жыл бұрын
I think there may be a misunderstanding here. Whenever a store that is touching the courtyard gets full then zombies will take down barricades, but the Game Store is in the corner and only touches the Hardware Store and the Foodcourt. When a corner store becomes full the next zombie to be placed goes to the next clockwise store, so in your example you are right that the first zombie would fill up the Game Store, but the second one would move into the Foodcourt since it is the next store in the clockwise direction and not go into the courtyard to take down the barricade.
@Expersprobi6 жыл бұрын
Good call, I forgot the fact that it's clockwise only which seems to be incredibly limiting to the Zombie player.
@TheBbari6 жыл бұрын
Also, before that in the electronics store you activated the store and added 2 zombies and they both destroyed a barricade but it looks like the last room with the helicopter part in it was never occupied? Or I’m just not understanding what happened

On the team scenario it says for the gameplay that you can only only flip it over when you end your turn in the room with an escape token. Yet you take the items when you move or pass there and not on the end of your turn e.g. at 19:17 you take the orange exit when moving to the room, yet theturn is not over as you move one more time and end your turn on the crate. If it really is at end of turn the game would become different and more difficult for the human players as it will take more turns to finish the scenario's

I think this may have been changed in the final rules? Because I can't find this anywhere. Only that after entering a room with an escape token you can flip it over. Not that this also means you can no longer move.

I saw this game and it looked very promising. It has some interesting ideas. But...this game looks no fun at all. Weird rules like the motorcycle returns to starting place(?), and tokens moving all over the place. The ammo/health combination is stupid. Why having to use bullets getting the characters loosing life? Doesn't make any sense. Moving through rooms and walls looks a little silly. Doesn't give you a real way to plan your movement feeling the danger around you. Those huge ugly meeples are not helping at all. Making the game very distant. I couldn't get the feeling I was participating in a horror-survival game. Not even a humorous one. The zombies where...not zombies. I would prefer paper standees than those meeples. I never got the feeling that the player was trapped and in danger. The fights were...no fights. You decide to kill a zombie in a different space and...boom. It is dead. No missing shoots. No danger. No feeling of accomplishment. No fun! The melee fight, is a little better. But you have no real reason to do it in most cases. Bullets should be rare and fights should be mostly melee. With danger. And risk. And consequences. This game have no "character". It have no intense fights. It have no danger feeling. It have meeples. It have tokens. It have no fun..... :(
