I think a good name for this when it comes out in English is “That’s really unfortunate “

Came back to watch this one as I hear about the game being really fun a lot and seems pretty solid as a family weight game, but sadly I dont have a group and play most of my stuff solo *sadface*

What a last round! So much luck without the red chips effects :D My top 5 games I own!

1:37:40 I'm not entirely convinced that Golden player should've stopped drawing at this point. In the last round you don't really need the purchasing power, so what's the penalty for busting (except the bonus die)? I believe in the last round everyone should push until they bust or reach the spoon because you just get more of everything you need regardless of whether it explodes or not. (edit: Ok I now realize the trade off is the 5:1 purchase power trading at the end that's at stake.)

After Great Western Trail, Scythe and Crusaders Thy Will Be Done, This is the fourth full playthrough of you I've watched (in just a couple of days) I find myself starting to get really enthousiastic and rooting for you as if I'm watching a sports game 😅 Thanks a lot for the good work and make me feel as if I'm playing the game myself with my friend (yes for some reason I consider you as a friend now) Great way to really get a grasp of boardgames!

If a player’s pot explodes in the very last round, do they then have to choose between victory points versus spending money to buy victory point? Or does anyone get to buy victory points at the end regardless if they exploded or not?

I hate to say it, but it's been so long since I've played this game that I no longer remember the rules enough to give you a good answer. Sorry!

First time watching your channel. Awesome job! I totally get the game and the strategy. These kinds of videos are really helpful when choosing what to play next at the board game cafe or potentially purchase. Looking forward to exploring more of your channel

This is great to hear, I'm glad you found it useful :) My channel has morphed over the years and I now focus on making playthroughs like this, though in the past I made tons of reviews as well. I'm not making those anymore, but the ones that were done are still hopefully helpful :)

Not that it matters, but you cheated for gold in the eighth round. They exploded but scored points and bought tokens anyway.

Good catch, thanks! I've added a note into the subtitles.

Worth noting that the Craw Scull (as well as some some others chips) have different sets with different effects.

Love the game and play thru, but the name is too complex and long for a game.

Very interesting game though I don't seem the competitiveness (other than the Rat Tails). It seemed like each player was doing their own thing (though I guess they also looked at their opponents to see what they were doing too) I can't believe that 6th and 7th round :P Does this game have a Solo Variant? I could see playing this game by myself for the most points.
@JonGetsGames6 жыл бұрын
I don't recall seeing a solo variant, and you are right that much of the action is solitaire but you do need to pay attention to your opponents to try and fill your cauldron more for the bonus die as well as the black moth token competition.

Oh! And I know you don’t review anymore, but did you like the game? Is it a keeper for you?

Yeah I’ve quite enjoyed it. I’ll be discussing my impressions of it next week in the monthly vlog so you’ll be able to hear all about my thoughts then :)

What?! Jon, you don't do reviews anymore? Those were the best on KZbin! Just do reviews for some of the games you like!
@the_luggage6 жыл бұрын
Bit harsh, mate. I don't have the expertise to do reviews as well as Jon does, or did, I suppose. I'm not going anywhere, just letting Jon know that he has a fan here who'd be very happy if he changed his mind 👍

This is probably my favourite ending to a playthough. I would have flipped the silver player bored and started shouting “that’s what you get for messing with me! Jon gets games! And you just got ‘GOT’!“

Haha, yeah it was pretty exciting for me too honestly.

At 54:32, you skipped evaluating the moths for silver and gold, both of which should've gotten a droplet move, I think - they each have one moth out and you don't have any. Thanks for the playthrough - looking forward to the English release.
@JonGetsGames6 жыл бұрын
Huh, I actually did evaluate the moths (you can see the drop moved for both silver and gold) I just accidentally cut out that chunk of video when I was editing. Sorry about that!

First, let's work on the English, like "volatileness" or the correct pronunciation of cauldron! (Is "cole-drun" a regional pronunciation? It's certainly not regionally Northern Californian, but it sounds suspiciously like it's from somewhere else.) Considering how many hilarious pronunciations and made-up words litter these board game videos, Jon's are only noticeable because there are so few.
