We bought this game some time ago for 10€ used and were like "It's probably bad, but for that money we can try it and resell at least", but we were surprised how good it was. The way you have to think ahead because your divers need time to get to correct position makes me think of Tzolk'in and the gears.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Jon play this game. I got it during a deep deep sale and the quality of the components is quite good (besides the cubes if you don't like those). Not the deepest of games but is still a nice puzzle to go through solo in an hour or so (official solo rules on BGG). A bit weird to learn so I'm happy this video exists.

The rulebook says for Sponsor#4 (Upgrade Diver) to flip the activated Diver tile to its Upgraded side. My understanding of this rule is that you can upgrade only the diver on the same level as the sponsor tile not any diver.

Good catch, it looks like I got confused since the reward tile upgrader can be for any diver. I'll add a correction, thanks!

Good playthrough !! I have a question though: what if you don’t have the credits to activate the sponsor tile or your diver ? Are you allowed to do nothing at all and just let the diver swim back up ?

@@JonGetsGames it’s okay ! I’ve checked the rulebook and the later part of your playthrough has also mentioned that you will not be able to carry out the action if you don’t have the credits for it but you can still proceed with your remaining move, only less efficiently. Thanks again !

So how much time does it generally take to play this game? For some reason it feels like a similar kind of puzzle as Blackout: Hong Kong in the way that you can always do something, but you have to work as efficiently as possible to get the maximum amount of profit out of your turns. That game is (off and on) my favorite game of all time, but doesn't come to the table as often as I'd like because of the playtime. Otys says 60 min. on the box and looks like an easier teach, so if that is accurate it might be a really good mid weight game for me to try.

Hey Jon, one piece of feedback--in many of your recent videos if feels like you're jumping straight into an overview of the mechanics without explaining the setting or theme of the game. For example, I'm currently paused at 2:37 where you're already talking about locked keys, but I still don't get why we have keys or what we're doing thematically, other than something about diving.

Sorry about that, I do sometimes forget to intro the theme since it's something that doesn't really grab me generally. I should do a preamble for theme at the start as well though, thanks for the feedback.

I was curious with the mechanics at first, but overall playthrough seems a little dull. Pretty typical contract fulfillment. Also, it feels overbalanced, maybe because of not-so-different contracts, maybe because of not-so-different playstyles, but I blame it on the game. But good tutorial, nevertheless :)

This one isn't for everyone, but for me personally I really like the key and diver stack puzzle of trying to do what you need to do. My biggest issue with the game is you can usually tell who will win when you take your last turn (as long as you aren't that winning person).
