Terra Sanctum - Bless your heart ! In 1974, she was the inspiration for buying my first 12 string guitar. I've been playing now for over 40 years, because of her.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am deeply touched. Tears of joy and sorrow, mixed together, like these fine voices, flow. I was not there at the concert, but I remember those days, and years, and am surprised to find myself still alive, though in quarantine. The CDs from which these tracks come are rare, now, but I will be looking for a set. Thank you, again!

Thanks for posting. Nice pictures. I was at the concert in Vancouver that night. She played a number of "new" songs that ended up on Blue, which explains why CD audience reaction on the CD is somewhat subdued. We were hearing these songs for the first time! Seems hard to believe that tickets cost a mere $3. Different times in so many ways.

Millentrax I came up from Bellingham for this GreenPeace concert, and what a magical night it turned out to be --- as I had been a rabid Phil Ochs fan for years at that point, and the chance to finally see him live, as well as Joni, was just mind-blowing. Add James Taylor to the mix, whose "Fire and Rain" was still fresh and new to us, and it gravitated into a religious experience. Decades later, when I became aware that a recording of the concert existed, and the double CD came out, I was beyond ecstatic. One of the best nights of my life, and I'm sure many others who were there feel the same. I still treasure the little green-on-yellow GreenPeace button that I bought that night.

@@lkronquist That's a cool story, especially the last part about the button. I still have my ticket stub and program to the first concert i went to.

Yes I recall when concert tickets were what I used to make per hour at the factory. But when tickets got to $20 I quit going out. But I have hundreds of tapes, record albums and CDs. Joni is the absolute Queen of song, poetry and art!!!

I hit the like button with the first note and was rewarded with one of the most likable of Joni's early recordings I've heard. Thanks for uploading this gold! And, for the beautiful slide show you put together to make a superb performance come alive!!

I keep telling people that I don't like Bob Dylan anymore - though he was my number-one rock 'n' roll hero all through high school - and that I don't even like Joni Mitchell as much as I used to. But somehow, the lyrics to "Mr. Tambourine Man" will always be etched on my heart, as the ultimate ode to dreams and escapes and to the power of the imagination. And oh god, Joni sounds beautiful here. This is brilliant.

"I don't even like Joni Mitchell as much as I used to." I don't think I've ever heard another sentient being uttered that thought. I can't imagine.

Well, okay. Maybe I DO like Joni Mitchell as much as I used to. I'll always like her. You're right.

Thanks for sharing, it’s a great performance!! She’s playing the dulcimer I think (not the 6 or 12 string guitar). Most songs on Blue are played on that instrument.
