No I love your tutorials I am 80 and started learning how to paint about two years ago when my kids got me a Bob Ross kit I thought I would try it as I watched his show when I was a child he made it look so easy and insisted any could do it. I always wanted to try it but life got in the way raising a family and career took priority with not much time for myself to devote to a hobby. My background is a engineer so I’m very black and white and not very creative but watching your tutorials gives me the confidence to try things I never thought I would be able to do and allot of the paintings I have completed following your tutorials have come out really well. People that have known me for years can’t believe that I painted them. I am retired and on a fixed budget so I have not become a patroon but follow your free tutorials and for that I am grateful for what you do. Thank you my name is Ron Drdul

I'm 80 years old, and this will be my second creation. I enjoy how you teach. What I like about art is that each painting is unlike any other. You are the artist-the creator. We can copy what you do, and our creation will be unlike any other. It reminds me of when I sit down at the piano and play jazz, and each time I play a song, it is different from what I did the last time I played whatever song I was playing.

Thank you for this tutorial and all of your tips! I love how it turned out. Before you mentioned the waterfall, I was thinking it looked like a waterfall ❤️ Also, before the last layer of trees I could see the bottom of the painting being a beautiful lake. I'll definitely be trying out this technique. This inspires me to paint. Thanks again!

I have been looking for an artist like you who paints Nature. I absolutely adore Trees but have not a clue how to do them. This really lit my fire as I do think I could do this. It's really beautiful. I love the idea of the mist and the first layer of trees, only to build over it and bring the picture into a 3D mode as it were. Excellent. I have subscribed and, as a beginner, as I have never had an art lesson, I feel that your video's are going to be truly helpful to me. Happy New Year 2025! I'm writing this on 3rd January. Getting myself INSPIRED.

Wow! Joni that is a superb painting - it truly captures the atmosphere of the forests. Panoramic landscapes and sunsets are wonderful but this painting talks to me. After many years of walking through forests and over moors and mountains this sort of misty scene you portray were much more common than the sunlit scenes we like to think of. You have a wonderful technique for creating such an image which I would be very happy to have displayed in the house - I love trees and this painting has a real taste of reality. Thank you.

I'm excited to learn how to paint fog. It gives a spin to the mighty forest. It's beautiful. At times, dangerous and mysterious. I enjoy painting trees. Nature and or landscapes. No worries about the paint brush sounds on the canvas. That's not your fault. It's actually ASMR to me.😊 Mr Ross would always put me to sleep when I would watch him paint his happy trees.🌲🌲🌲 He had such a soothing voice. This painting turned out amazing and wonderful, Joni. I love how there's rows and rows of different colored trees, different heights for them, and the way the fog spills and wraps around them in a calming embrace. It's limitless on how far the fog reaches. Thank you for showing me how to hopefully achieve such a painting. Yay!! Have a great week ahead.🤗❤️🌫️💜🌫️💚🌫️

Absolutely love this! I've been struggling with fog. Definitely going to try this technique.Another great tip for keeping your paints from drying out I use a plastic pencil box like the ones we used to use in school I put a damp paper towel down with a piece of parchment paper over the top of it and then if I'm working on a project long-term I can just close it up and keep it fresh. If it starts to dry out when I'm working on it then I mist it with a little bit of water to keep it from drying out but if I have to stop and do something else I close up the lid and when I come back my pants are still fresh. Just make sure your paper towel isn't too damp because it can make your paints runny
