Reminds me of a Thomas Kincaid! I had NO idea that's something you said until I started the video but that's EXACTLY what I said out loud when I seen this painting from the thumbnail. Awesome job Joni, you are an amazing, talented artist & you're such an inspiration to me, thank you, sincerely.

i am new to your channel as well as new to painting! i’ve wanted to do sooo many of your paintings but felt like it was near impossible for new artists to follow along because you were not as vocal in explaining what you were doing and you would just do it. i wanted to see how much paint you put on your brush, how much of two colors you mixed, when you wet the brush, name and number of the brush, name and color of the tube of paint, etc etc and in THIS tutorial you did just that! so now i am hooked! i loved how much more detailed you’ve become explaining everything even small things like “this will dry darker because of the purple underneath “ or “i’m going to wet the canvas because that helps the paint spread and blend much better “… these are the very details that us new artists look for when we want to watch a tutorial and helps us learn so a huge thank you!

I've only been painting canvas for about a year now and still don't understand all of it. I have ppl tell me I'm really good but that not with anything as complex as this beautiful picture 🥰

I love your step by step instructions and clear explanations as to why this works and how it can be done differently (turn your brush, add some water, you can use a flat brush, ect...). no one can complain that your paintings are not vibrant! Yeah, the windows of course cannot help but remind one of ... well, no need to beat that dead horse cuz I don't want to compare. I do notice things sometimes and I like how you take various techniques and combine them all. Nice result! My fav part is the smoky distance right in the middle. I just love the ambiguity of that. fog, haze, distance, space leading off into somewhere. nice.

I recommend Liquitex basics for paints, they’re great for all levels. Paint brushes are more personal choice and preference, try a few kinds to see what works best for you. One tip for brushes, nothing too soft or stiff.:) A few brands I personally use and love are: -Princeton -Galleria -Royal & Langknickel -Lerman Decor All reasonably priced too 😊

Stunning. Question: From the cottage on the right as you look at it, would there be the light yellow reflections from the windows, on the underside or actually on the side facing the viewer in the water, at least the two to the left? It is really beautiful painting. So much amazing detail. I can dream some day to do a painting like this. Or maybe I should stick to acrylic pouring and resin art. 😋😂 I really do want to broaden my talent to be like some of your gorgeous paintings though. I love ocean, beach scenes which are a combo of a pour/brush work (ie. Clouds and such) and pigment resin waves. Thank you Joni. I really enjoyed watching this video.
