Am this preamp but was confused about exactly how it works. This is the most informative/understandable explanation/demo that I've seen on it, thank you.

Hello Johnny, I am from Nicaragua; I had a Japanese P bass from 1989, but I sold it, because I needed 5 strings; and a versatile sound. I was thinking about an American Deluxe Precision 5 strings, but they were also expensive; They can not be found! I saw your video, I listened to your demo, and I didn't hesitate! I bought one that sold for $315 in New Jersey! and it's already on its way! I bought at Warmoth a Smoked Maple neck with Rosewood Fretboard, with Mother of Pearl inlays! It will look great! Then I will evaluate some changes! Thank you !

I liked the setting with both pups on and set 100% neck filter and &50% bridge. Also, sounds better picked than fingerstyle.

I wish this was in a 4 string configuration it looks awesom even if the only thing special about it is the silver pickguard and matching headstock

Awesome demo, Jonny 😎🤘🏻🎸 modification does make a big difference on a bass and this bass sounds killer with the mods. It gives it a nice punchy tone. I’ve modded my Ibanez bass with bartolini electronics years ago and it made a huge difference in tone. I was inspired by zlatoyar bass to mod my Ibanez and he has such killer tones on his basses. And the bartolini electronics has made my bass breath new life. Anywho, the electronics you use for your squire bass sounds phenomenal 😎

this is why you should buy Yamaha. They make some of the best professional multiband studio EQs in the business and they make the semiconductors that are in them. So when I buy a bass from them I'm pretty sure they can make a good 3-band bass pre-amp. PS I'm listening to this on a $1000 Yamaha receiver and they own a well know own bass amp co you might have heard of by the name of Ampeg

Nice ...appears to give a lot more variation in tone. Still £195 is alot of money, especially as I tend to stick to a fairly narrow tonal range anyway.

Hey Johnny Great Video man! Can you review the Squier Classic vibe 60s Mustang Bass if you can? They’re great fun little Basses that I think you’ll love! Great work as always

Jonny, if you don't need the original electric, I would take it. Bought a paranormal P and the former owner removed it and made him passive. I want a roll back... So feel free to contact me...

Not related to this vid but you have played both... I have the choice... Squier Paranormal or CV 60s jazz... I own the CV 60s P bass and love it... Anyway.. For the same price second hand.. Paranormal or CV 60's Jazz bass..? Thanks
@JonnyDibble2 жыл бұрын
Tough one! I th8nk tye Paranormal might take the biscuit. I've reviewed both and the 60s is very nice, but the paranormal has those seperate tone controls and is a bit more modern sounding and unique

Something a bit different with this one, some serious modding. The bass does sound really good now, certainly worth the effort of doing the instal.

Great demo! Love the Lusithand Devices stuff! I installed the Double NFP in my Sire V7 recently (thanks, LowEndLobster!) and it's superb. My only complaint is that I have to keep the pickups at < 10% volume, lest my amp/board clips. The volume difference between the preamp engaged/disengaged is drastic as well.. not sure if I did something wrong on installation. Other than that, it's a breath of fresh air into my tonal palette. Their Alma compressor is also amazing and I hope you do a review of that soon!
@JonnyDibble2 жыл бұрын
Awesome! As this has no on/off switch, I cant compare, but its not super hot putput when engaged on this one. Thanks very much! I will be reviewing the compressor too 😊

The preamp sounds cool. Thanks. However, your low string did seem taught and often sounded flabby. Maybe that is what I get listening in on KZbin on a smartphone. Maybe I need to get my ears checked. Sorry.
