I think another interesting car would be the Redbull RB11. I know Redbull is still considered a fairly new team but they had a good run in 09 as runner ups and then of course winning 4 titles in a row to completely falling flat in 2015. Not a single win that season.
@nbain66 Жыл бұрын
Red Bull had a run of developing a car that wasn't great at the beginning of the season and improving a lot throughout from 2015-2020. It was a competitive car at the end, but still just out of reach of a win. Singapore was very close however.

A bit surprised that you didn't review the 2019 one, it's pace deficit on average was much larger to the front of the grid, they missed the first two days of pre-season testing in Barcelona, and it was a horrible car to drive, the grip was really inconsistent, while Russell regularly made it into Q2 in 2020 and the car's handling overall was a lot more stable, it just lacked downforce. They only scored a point in 2019 by pure luck at the German GP, because so many cars retired.

Williams is my favorite team in F1, but the fact that they lost so many opportunities to go in another way, BMW in the 2000s, the Strolls in the last decade, we just have to face that they will never be able to compete if they don't merge with some financial backing...

I thought this was going to be the 2019 car, which was useless. Kubica's point was a fluke because Kimi and Gio were handed 30 sec pens at Hockenheimring. And the 2021 car was a B spec of 2020 car, so it wasn’t truly a flop.

2018 and 2019 were Williams' worst years in F1 I think. After a gradual decline from 2014 to 2017 (somewhat engine-related, but mainly because they just couldn't develop the car as fast as the other teams) they tried something radical in 2018 and it failed horribly. Instead of a car only lacking downforce they now had a car that lacked downforce and was draggy like a parachute as well. In 2019 it got even worse. The car wasn't even ready in time and when it finally hit the track it was SLOW. Was it all Paddy Lowe's fault? Who knows. Williams got more competitive after he left. They didn't score points in 2020, but they could have, while in 2019 they got incredibly lucky to score that single point.
