Good video! Last time I saw a reed switch was in a 1974 TEAC A-450 cassette deck! Nice to see they still have a use.

Go kart racing is big here. Reed switches are used in the pickup for lap counting. A series of magnets are buried across the track. I've repaired a few of them as the cables get damaged. Also used in door switches for alarms.

Last time I switched reeds was in my Yamaha Banshee. I used carbon fiber reeds.

10:32 was confused at first when you said 12 volts and i could only see 2.26 but realized later the first digit isn't showing lol probably because of the cameras framerate edit: 23:20 the folder still has the Chinese letters

Yes! I renamed that and they now load. Well, you need to remove Chinese from the folder and the file name.
