When I started skating 13 years ago, most of your tricks were just unthinkable even for people like Rodney Mullen (he admits this in a interview). Videos of this kind are the purest essence of skating. For me this is much more interesting than seeing skaters jumping over dangerous gaps.

I have come back to this part every couple months for 5 years now, everytime is continues to impress. No filler, no repeat tricks, great display of all stances, a bunch shot on the same day, music lines up fantastically, and a feast of tricks no one else is doing (aside from a couple sloppy instagram accounts). A flatground only part that ranks with the likes of cheese and crackers.

I think it´s called a fakie beta flip. It a full cab + a hospital flip. A merlin twist would be a front foot impossible + a frontside 180. Maybe you could to a fakie frontside 360 merlin twist, which would be an even more insane trick, because the board would actually spin 720, but a full cab merlin twist would be impossible, because in a front foot impossible the board spins frontside not backside.

Indeed, it was great. (4:30 for those that are looking for it.) Slowed down, it looks like at the end he might be able to do a front-foot late heelflip with just a bit of a flick off the side of the board, without disturbing the continuation of the shuv-it rotation.

Normally a Jonny Giger video is of him, learning one insanely hard trick over the course of a video. Most other skate videos just show the best tricks landed in a row so you miss out on the hard work that goes into each trick. Seeing Jonny put all of his tricks together like this really shows how he is a step a head of most pros in the flat ground game. This was an absolute pleasure to watch Jonny.

The more creative media which involves this man absolutely paints him as someone pushing the limits of skateboarding - one teaching I’ve taken from Johnny and try to use in pursuits now (too knackered and old to skate) is to not just settle for being able to do something, but do it to the best of your ability. Omg in my opinion, this is still the best filmed video on your channel to this day. The music, the style of filming, the mastering. For me, an excited viewer but non skater, this is how a true, wonderfully crafted skate masterpiece should look like.
