one of the first tricks I ever tried, as giger said it was beginner level. I tried it and when I shoved the board back, I managed somehow to hit the board on my ankle like full force... it hurt so bad that I'm only trying to learn it again one year later 😆

Thanks for breaking up the tricks into groups. The reason I ride Revive is because they keep skateboarding accessible to all levels of skating. Watching pros and protect tricks can be discouraging but tips like this help us beginners progress. Even if we are 41 year old beginners.

Thanks! For people really going the freestyle direction it's perfectly acceptable to put griptape rectangles on nose and tail to get good grip (and use nose- and tailsavers). I have been trying to get this trick down for quite some time and still have trouble getting out of the casper stall. From all the practising my deck is pretty chewed up already and some freestylers put screws in the upside of nose and tail to prevent wood damage from this trick.

If you know how to ollie, just learn this trick with the Ollie. Once you can catch the board consistently with the Ollie, you can also Casper flip. I could do like 10 tricks back in the day, this one one of em

i'm 26, picked up a board a week ago, i already knew how to cruise i guess but i hadnt even done that properly in 10 years. Anyways from following your videos i can ollie a decent height now, defo high enough to get over curbs (problem is i find it hard to do while rolling lmao), i can also get consistent Shuvits now, im pretty close to a fs 180, i followed your kickflip tutorial and landed my first kickflip yesterday (i was leaning against a wall a bit since i lost my balance, so maybe it doesn't count but im still super proud i manipulated the board into doing a kickflip and landed it with both feet) Anyways i'm having trouble landing more kickflips so i'm gonna try and stomp a casper today and keep practicing my rolling ollies. I'm not very good but hey, its only been a week since i started, can't wait till i feel comfortable enough to skate in front of others. Anyways, love from Scotland man, if you ever read this thanks for all the help, i really needed skating at this point in my life

I don't get how you can do this trick with a normal street board. My front foot which holds up the deck always hurts like a mf when I try it. Do I do something wrong or are my shoes to othin (vans oldskool) or are my feet just too sensitive? :'D Casper stall is one of my favorite tricks but I don't do it because it's too painful and I believe a trick should never hurt you like that.
@karebushmarebu233 Жыл бұрын
you're not doing anythnig wrong, its jsut cause you're not used to it, once you have done it enough and work out the right angles it shouldnt hurt nearly as much, also wear some skate shoes with a fat tounge and hold the board up with that part of your foot, gives extra padding

Have your back foot sort of follow the edge of the board when it flips over. If you look close when he explains it’s better shown than verbally explained. I myself am new to these but the shuv it variation is my first consistent non Ollie trick :)

My backfoot can can never get up high enough while I'm balancing to land with both feet. I can make it on either foot; but rarely ever both. I just can't jump high enough. I've literally been at learning this trick for a year, learned ollies, and this still doesn't click for me, feel pretty stupid.
@karebushmarebu233 Жыл бұрын
jumping isn't important man, just bend your knees, thats all you have to do, when you do the shuv it, bend your back leg away and when it comes down the board should be under you, barely need to jump with this In the end its all about commitment, i had the same problem with normal shuvits, turned out jumping isnt that important with these tricks, its more just bending that back leg away far enough when you scoop

Your doing it wrong. Your feet are too under the board (that makes the board hit your feet and it hurts). Try to put your feet more on the edge of the board.
@kwadens93093 жыл бұрын
@@user-kh8oc2yf4r thank you that makes a lot of sense !
@karebushmarebu233 Жыл бұрын
@@user-kh8oc2yf4r Id acutally say its the other way round, once the board is flipped, if youre using a street board its going to really hurt if you try to prop it up with your toes i na thin pair of skate shoes. Wear some skateshoes with a fat tounge and really get your front foor under the board so the tounge from your shoe provides padding, that along with gettuing mroe used to the trick will prevent pain (for the most part)
