Hey Jonny, great vid been watching for a while. Me and my bro we’re trying casperflips and wondered if it was possible to do a casperflip down a stairset and hold the Casper as long as possible before rotating it back to catch it and land. Thought it would be a great challenge for you 1000th Vid, love your vids keep up the good work.

@Jonny Giger do you have tips on kickflip under flips you just uploaded a video on them and you landed a couple just wondering if you have any tips on the trick because my back foot keeps getting in the way and don’t know how to underflip it with the front foot any practice steps you know. Thanks!

My butt still hurts from watching the video. A trainer once told me that you can break your tailbone outward or inward when falling on your behind. If it broke outwards you have to push it in. Of course we asked what happens if you break it inwards. He replied by making the international gesture of putting on rubber gloves: 🤚 🤏

@originalprolikethat UK english is newer english. North American colonial dialects are from a mix of old peasant dialects and being forced to develop pigeon languages with Native-Americans. Native-Americans learning English and French has had a huge impact on how Americans, Canadians and Quebecois pronounce these words, but not as huge an impact as old peasant languages including scottish and irish dialects which is frankly cooler than what happened in Europe: the peasants in London and Paris all started speaking like royalty and the dialects and accents that Americans and Quebecois have today are now extinct in Britain and France even though that is where they are from.
@MosoKaiser4 жыл бұрын
@@gabfortin1976 For the most part, North American English varieties have for long been mixing and evolving, and don't have much, if hardly anything, to do anymore with the English spoken by the original colonists. However, the few linguistic islands that do are isolated places the communities of which have had less contact with the outside, like some mountaneous regions such as in the Appalachians, and remote coastal settlements in the north-eastern US for instance. And even with those, it's not like the English spoken there is _the_ same variety as in 17th century England, but rather that it still contains some traits that can be traced back there, which have long since disappeared elsewhere.

Getting back into skating after stopping about 27 yrs ago and your vids really put a smile on my face! These basics all ring familiar from back in the day. I'll be riding a big ass old school 1987 Hosoi re-issue, so it's gonna be slower tricks and less flipping, but at the tender age of 42 I'm gonna start nice and easy. 🤙 Thanks for uploading!

I'm 46 and recently started skating again after a 20+ year hiatus. Jonny's videos have helped me get re-acquainted with a lot of the tricks I landed with relative ease when I was 19 or 20. I feel like I'm executing a lot of these tricks far better than I did in my younger years, as the only people from whom I learned were my peers, not pros and/or KZbinrs. After an hour of skating, I was able to ollie with decent (knee) height, pop shove it (both front and back), heel flip, nollie, switch ollie, half cab (both front and back), and 360 flip. Have fun, gentlemen!
@wasbeer774 жыл бұрын
@@Darren_S I'm almost 43. Started at 9, stopped when I was about 17, I think? Yeah musta been then. I got a girlfriend and figured there was a whoooole lot of other tricks I wanted to master. 😜 The bug never really left me, I guess. I'd always stop and look at skaters coming by, waiting for them to pop a trick. Now they'll be watching me, waiting to pop a hip.

I just seen this post and agree 100% where was you tube when I was growing up skating. I am 40 now, and just decided to buy a new board and reignite my passion for skating. It haven't skated in about 18 years, and with the help of Jonny Giger, Braille, and YT, I have picked up what I could do then, and now more. I have now even got my kids into it too. I like the good and friendly atmosphere that is produced about skating nowadays, it a healthier sport than it used to be.

Some cheap (dollar shop) decks are actually quite hard to ride, because they don't have that bounce to them and the griptape is trash as well. Getting something decent makes more sense in skateboarding than in nearly any other sport.

Haven't been on a deck since I was 17, making that 24 years ago. Worked recently in the Scarborough precinct here in Perth and I itched at the feeling of getting back on a deck after drawing inspiration from a fifty five year old skater after watching him in the Snake Pit bowl. Got my old Powell Peralta out yesterday and indeed I suck, can't even claim I'm rusty. Bought a cheap double-kick today and are starting to carve it up like I used to. Never lose the skater in you, but certainly lose the strength and coordination! Cheers for this video Jonny. Tips I've got to relearn!!!!

Caveman, boneless and nose-grab flips are super fun tricks that I like to do to warm-up. Also you can do so many different variations, 180s, over gaps, drops, onto obstacles, off them, where ever. I'm still working on my no comply 180's but I can do it as a nosegrab variant, maybe not as cool, but still a trick. These easy tricks also make you learn so much more board control, which will be very useful when learning flip tricks.

Quit again cause of work, family, bills, kids, LIFE. Now I am 34 just got another board again, but I feel so out of place riding in my driveway, I feel like I am 15 again, but that makes me feel kind of good, but I seriously suck.
