Well, the earth is shaking too. Besides, it's a dream; although of course they will re-use this when Númenor actually founders. I do not know why they thought it was a good idea to 'give away' so much of this spectacle at this early point. It could have been teased out with just a few frames, which would build interest and heighten the sense of it being a dream or vision. But most people like this sequence so I seem to be the one out of touch here.

In the lore Sauron "died" in the destruction of Numenor, with dying it ment that as a Maia his spririt did not die, but he was no longer capable to take a descent shape. Peter Jackson took the liberty to turn Sauron in the Lidless EyE.

Bronwyn - savior of her people and rations. Disa - saves dwarves lives by singing to the mountain. Anerion - foreshadowed to being the architect for Minis Tirith and all the beautiful architecture found in Gondor. I’m a woman for god’s sake and can’t stand them. Give me Aragon, Gimli, Legolas, Eomer, Feromir, etc. any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Like an addict, I’m quitting this show cold turkey.

But seriously, for all of their talk about inclusivity and depicting women more powerfully, this show (and it’s just from clips and commentary that I know anything about it since I refuse to watch it, but when feminists are saying the same - I like a broad spectrum of opinions, though Johnny’s are the most level headed, particularly for how comical they are - I’ve seen more than enough to have formed a fairly educated opinion of my own), this show is doing a shit job. I don’t know if it’s the showrunners, writers, or actors’ faults - maybe all of them - the traits that eventually made Galadriel the strongest being in Middle Earth are woefully absent. The scene of the female dwarf yelling at her kids; I mean, Jesus Christ. The rest are a complete mess as well. It’s just another angle for the show runners to deflect criticism; if you don’t like the show, you’re a racist, misogynist, or both. I’m sure those people exist in the fandom, as they do in every other fandom and life in general, but this leftist feminist takes umbrage with everyone being painted with the same brush. Nah, Sauron's physical form actually died in Numenor in 2nd Age but we all know what happened next. So Halbrand dying there would be the only canon thing after 4 hours of fanfiction. By the way, you do realize that the ONLY character\actor that has some charisma on screen is actually Halbrand\Sauron right? Like Annatar. In a paraller universe this would be a brilliant, subtle hint by the writers\directors but in our universe they are way too stupid and incompetent, it was just luck.

I just like the fact they can't come with any semi decent ideas of how to get character from point A to point B. We somehow have Galadriel *offscreen* fighting 5 guards and getting them all in her cell. How? I don't know. I guess a billion can't buy you fight coordinators or stunt doubles or anything really. Adar just randomly releases male OC elf because he wants a message delivered... Er... Why? Yes you prisoner go forth with this message. *2 mins later* Oh shit he's running the wrong way. OI! Stop no! Go West! WEST I SAID! OH dam it this is the twelfth one this month to run the wrong way. Jeff go raid another village. We need more messengers. Seriously the plot needed OC elf for next plot point and they couldn't think of anything creative to get him there. Maybe the prisoner escape from previous episode should have been successful if you needed him to be elsewhere. Also note how orcs attack him. You would think Adar would give him something to let them know he's a messenger. Also don't give weapons back to a prisoner Adar. I just don't understand the logic in this show. I think the plot has a split personality at this point. This show has more plot holes than actual plot. How that's possible I don't know. Jeff my man you need to check where your money is going cause it is not going into this show. Someone is running off with a couple of hundred mil in their pockets.

OMG, you cannot see the future whatching inside a Palantir, this is not how it works! The Palantiri are just communication tools (from Quenya "palan" - far + "tir" - watch) and they connect the people who use them. To have a glimps of the future events, Galadriel actually uses a Mirror, a basin forged in silver filled with water that can show a lot of things, past, present, possible future and hidden desires of who's watching. I'm wondering if Rings of Power's writers have at least seen P.J. trilogy. I bet not.

After 4+ hours of showtime, I counted 24 named characters… 10 Tolkien characters and 14 Amazon characters The 10 Tolkien characters are butchered and not like their book counterparts at all - maybe with the exception of King Durin III. I’m just angry about that. What a waste of Tolkien’s creativity as source material. 🤬🤬🤬 The 14 Amazon characters are not well developed at all - with the exception of Disa and Nori. The other 12 are either purposefully kept a mystery (Adar, Halbrand, & The Stranger) or not written with any depth.

The more and more i watch these episodes, the more of my brain celles dies. This is why the show should NEVER EVER HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE FIRST PLACE! Go back and watch the Lord of the rings trilogies instead or the hobbit for that matter. They are way better then whatever this show is!

I don’t watch the show; your commentary and clips are more than sufficient. Question, however; in the dream with the enormous wave destroying Númenor, and perhaps my understanding of physics is remedial, but how exactly does a wave knock over large, granite buildings before ever reaching them? Am I being too particular? I mean, a billion dollar budget, I’d imagine someone has at least a base understanding of the fundamentals of physics. No? They fired that person as they refused to work for minimum wage because…Amazon be Amazoning? Right, makes sense.
