Sea-Doo 951 Exhaust Pipe - Gray Ghost Resurrection

In this video we put in the famously difficult tuned pipe. Its a little awkward but after test fitting first it wasn't that bad. I ended up putting it in 2 pieces so i could be sure the flange is sealed. Resurrecting a Seadoo 97.5 GSX Limited aka the Gray Ghost. This was the first year of the big 947/951 Rotax Engine.

I broke my exhaust mount on my 947 , can I pick up that m8x20 bolt at a hardware store or is seadoo parts only

Hey any advice would be handy my new jet ski (sea doo spark trixx 3 up) has been losing oil and it has been to 3 different dealers it now at another sea doo dealership being looked at. its a new ski with under 20 hours on it and it has a leak down percentage of cylinder 1is 25% cylinder 2 is 30% and cylinder 3 is 35%. any advice on how to fix or what the issue could be would be appreciated BRP wont get back in touch with and dealer has no clue it been in different dealerships for over 2 months now

I own a 4tech gtx but not as savvy on the 4 strokes. But it's either burning oil from getting past rings or its leaking. Check if plugs are hard shinny black fowled. Put a bore scope in the spark holes and look at piston wash and inside walls of cylinders ..they may be scored. @@jonparkmac I don't have the ski to check since it is still at the dealer , my only real concern is should I be getting a new engine put in since it's only new and has warranty.

Yes I would make them put in a new engine if there is no outside leak

@@jonparkmac yeah thanks I will push for that to happen since of the hasle it has been so far. Has turned me off buying from sea doo tho the customer service in Australia is terrible I can't even get a reply or contact the head office

@@jonparkmac ok I also have a 98 gray GSX and I just rebuilt the engine and did a few upgrades ,prop, TDR water box, intake grate, also made a custom exhaust pipe, connected to a 98 XP hull fitting cause it has the 90’ bend. Removed the resonator years ago because it burned a hole causing it to flood my hull. But was interested in making it run on the rich side. So I just purchased the 99 fuel set up cause I still have the 1.8 seats. But your videos have been helpful and inspiring

Thats weird, .ine doesnt have the carbon seal, injust have the rwgular bearing and seal

The 97.5 I think had the bearing. Prev owner on mine must have changed it

Hey im having alot of trouble with vibration and the 4 top bolts work loose and the rubber bushes keep wearing out after 3 -4 hrs of use do you have any idea what might be causing this issue cheers

@anthonyparker8434 have you had your bottom end apart? Could be the counterbalance is out of time. Idk if I have ever seen them skip a tooth with normal use. But it's gotta be something mechanical

Impossible for them to skip a tooth, but it could be skipped on assembly. Does it rev smooth on water? What do plugs look like?
