Well done on the pass mate, honda vfrs are the same on charging issues as well crappie wiring connectors do it mainly and overheat everything trust me I know mine needs doing at the moment 😅

On my Daytona 955 I mounted the regualtor/rectifier on a 3mm copper plate and put a computer fan above it. The copper plate helps soak away heat. I always thought the battery was too small on the 955's

Hi I put that clear electrical grease on my Stater Rectifier blocks Connect that's where the water get in and a good ampage battery.

Hello, you might have sussed this by now, but most Triumphs will throw an engine management light if the tank has been removed and/or sensors have been unplugged and the ignition is switched on. This will clear after 3 heat cycles (cold to hot) of the engine

There are some good videos on KZbin on how to check a motorcycle charging system with a meter. DC readings at the battery plus AC readings direct from the stator. A decent battery should be around 13V or just over rising to about 14.5V when revving the engine. It shouldn't go above 14.7V.

Congratulations on getting a clean MoT, always nice after putting the effort in They don't "suffer" from Stator Burn any more than many bikes ('90's Hondas were worse). The culprit (root cause) can usually be traced back to poor condition of the big multi plug connector. Corrosion on the terminals makes the reg/rec think the alternator needs more excitation and forces higher output which eventually burns the windings. In the process that can also fry the battery and often the reg/rec too from over voltage at high revs. There's chapter and veerse on these issues on TTF. The "Sasquatch Mod" effectively bypasses the multi plug, ideally with new high quality cable but if the damage has already been done, it can be a hefty bill to put it right. Modern (better quality) Mosfet reg/rec's are a bit more robust, Electrex World are a well trusted supplier. That doesn't seem to be the case suggested by your short test, anything over 2k rpm I would expect to see the voltage rising to 14.5V, the fact that it drops slightly as you rev is to be expected as the fuel pump will run longer. Needs more investigation mate. The MIL light not resetting could be a number of issues, depends how long the battery was disconnected, it might need an adaptation reset, the process varies depending on the ECU model, check on TTF for explanations from Bixer who knows what he's talking about. Enjoy the triple burble and addictive torque.

Do a few heat Cycles and the engine light will disappear .

As long as the battery is charging at 13v it should be OK I would say, maybe check the regulator and make sure the battery connections are good, at least its mot'd 👍👍
