Love the pod but Lea was clearly hooking Salome with those calls. It’s pretty clear the players can’t call their own lines. They need all matches refd by line judges from quarterfinals on

@@salomeD_PB I find it unfortunate you are unable to shake this stigma. It's completely unfair. Did you make some bad calls a couple years ago? yes, you did, but you are trying to prove that you are beyond that by requesting line judges. Lea doesn’t have reputation because players that play her don’t spend their time going online for hours yelling her name like Lea calls out everyone else after every of her loss. Watch Lea vs. Todd in few weeks ago Lea was calling foot in balls out. Watch Lea play Devidze before, she had 4 or 5 overrules per match, but Salome didn’t go online yelling Leas name. But now she is showing her own true face by herself.

I have a great cheating story that just happened at a 4.0 local Round Robin where two women were observed cheating. They were called out by the tournament Director after the first game and instead of tightening it up and continuing to play to demonstrate they weren't cheating they packed up and quit with this fake outrage Just for some context, these women are rated about 4.0 in DUPR and last year the intentionally played 3.0 sanction tournaments to make sure that they would be able to play in a 3.0 qualifier. They played in Arizona nationals qualifier that was about a month ago or a month and a half ago now. They played 3.0 and went 7-0 to take a golden ticket. They came back and the next weekend one of them played 4.5 and took silver. As an additional layer, just so you know who these people are, one of them was convicted of embezzlement because she stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from her previous employer People that will cheat in petty amateur tournaments are cheating because that is their personality.

No mention of the EGREGIOUS, momentum-killing sideline call that would've had Lea and Callie at 7-3??? As for paddle-tapping with ALW, they shook hands after the match. Salome made some pretty egregious line calls a couple years ago and got blasted for it and rightly so. Since then, she's been better and has even tried to mitigate her reputation by being the one to request line judges in her bigger matches. Fast forward to recent history and Paris Todd can be seen having 3 huge calls overturned against Salome. Does Paris now have the reputation Salome has/had? Nope. Lea has 4 calls overturned by 0-5 in her match against Salome. Does Lea now have a reputation for terrible line calls? Too early to tell, but she certainly deserves it after that nonsense. Salome continues to carry this reputation for reasons we can only guess at while other players seem to be teflon when it comes to being a hooker (you know what I mean). Jimmy needs to think about why this is the case.

I've heard there is an unofficial boycott by amateurs of PPA tournaments. For Texas, in the 4.5 50-59, there are only 6 teams signed up...and only 5 teams in the 4,0 50-59.
@erinsataloffpickleball5 ай бұрын
I have not heard of any organized boycott of any kind but the cost for amateurs to play is ridiculous. In addition to the high registration and event costs there's also a fee just to register on the website. GTFO. I am not spending $250+ to play an amateur tournament. I started playing at the end of 2020 and throughout 2021 I played in 18 tournaments, and I think 10 of them were either the PPA or the APP. The fees were high, but they were semi manageable but going to the tournament is expensive no matter what. The cost have only gotten higher, so I'm sure some of the dwindling numbers are exclusively due to the financial aspect.

I hear Joola may be filing a $45 million dollar lawsuit against the USAP. I hope so, this is long overdue!. What independent body is overseeing the USAP testing model, holding them accountable, making them more timely, more responsive to their clients? The USAP is the problem! They have no transparency, and no accountability, they're a black hole. Who is the third party tester, what is their company name, what are their qualifications, what is their track record, years in business, customer list, customer references, what scientific equipment are they using, where are their detailed, published, scientific test results for each paddle tested? The USAP collects too much money, tens of millions of dollars, to be shrouded in such secrecy. Sunlight is the best disenfectant. Pickleball is going soft with all this talk about injury, liability etc. There's a simple solution, wear protective eyewear, when compared to paddle prices, this is a simple, cheap solution. Don't dumb down pickleball more then it is. Be progressive, continue to evolve, keep an open mind, remember your viewers.
