His origin as the personification of the season are as 'Sir Christmas' in a 15th century carol - becoming 'Old Father Christmas' by the 1650's. It was the early Victorians who created the bearded jolly faced character seen in Dicken's 'A Christmas Carol'.

Oh my- It's all so lovely! Here in Germany it's doom and gloom and if you so much as smile, you'll be fined. They literally say work is okay, but fun is a no-go. It is like a ghost-town everywhere. Lockdowns don't work and suck! Some townspeople even worked so hard to have a 'drive-thru' Christmas- literally no different from McDonald's, but the ba humbug Germans have made them close down too. So wish we were in London for Christmas (or anywhere at this point)! Merry Christmas!

A lovely, jolly video. Puts a smile on your face. Wouldn't it have been nice if a few more KZbinrs had done something similar, linked up with Joolz, and together produced a programme of Christmassy videos, walk-rounds, and traditional songs from around the world?
