The absolute saddest thing about Phil is that he could have flipped his 4th Place Rank at EVO into a funny character that brought joy to the FGC. He could have specifically trained in the shitty versions of major fighting games, play up the whole heel angle by calling out big names in the FGC to beat him to prove they're the best, then pull out the Game Boy or chunky PS1 version of the game. If they lose, they have to donate money to some local arcade in the same city as the tournament. If he loses, he has to donate to some charity or their own local arcade. Just a nice goofster who gives everyone a laugh and a good time.

Triple H: "WWE is going through a Renaissance Era." Triple L: "DSP is going through a Renaissance Era." So oblivious to his own addictions 😂
@FreddyChoppinsАй бұрын
What's amazing about Phil is he doesn't have a single positive quality. He acts like people go out of their way to hate him when people just him because he's so unbelievably obnoxious and likeable. He's greedy, he treats his fans like crap, some who've given him thousands of dollars over the years, he acts like being told to alter or adjust ANYTHING on his stream is an act of manual labor in 130° heat, and on and on. This guy charged people $100 to wear a vest and I remember someone tipped him $1.99 to bump the $98 to $100 and he counted it as $1 and refused to wear it. Putting aside how comically idiotic you must be to give a 40+ year old $100 to wear a vest, it's a "reward" that effectively does nothing and takes him no effort and seconds to put on. It's not a reward, it's simply a begging instrument, and he STILL wouldn't wear it because he was a penny short of $100. Phil still pretends people hate him because he's bad at games when the simple truth is that he's just an asshole with zero redeeming qualities, and the fact that the original surpassed 3 million views as fast as it did just reinforces that he's widely hated and laughed at for good reason.

What’s funny about DSP is that the “downfall” has been for well over a decade now. Frederick Knudsen made a “downfall” style video on him *7 years ago*. If DSP can teach us all anything, it’s the infallibility of the human spirit and the constitution we muster when everything looks bleak. Imagine waking up as Phil. Now imagine waking up as Phil, every day, 365 days, for YEARS. That’s like a Black Mirror episode or something. Thank you DarkSydePhil. You teach us all to never give up. In fact, get cocky and arrogant about it. Never admit mistakes. Never surrender who you really are; a lazy, stupid, selfish, angry, pathetic old man.

His Kiwi Farms board has a very accurate description: DarkSydePhil is a notoriously awful Let's Player who built an empire on failure and a permanently sinking ship.. Fits like no other. He is always sinking but never fully sunk.

Isn't this the guy who spent 5 years lying to his audience, crying poor and claiming he didn't play WWEC, only to admit to it all the day after this documentary dropped?
@DarldDaleАй бұрын
Not exactly. He admitted to the account being his, but he made up new lies about how he sold the account and someone else whaled out on it. He then also claimed that the person he sold it to sold it to someone else because people were asking him to talk to the guy he claims bought the account. There is nothing honest about the guy, ever.

I think one of the most angering aspects of the DSP story, is that he had immense opportunity to make something out of his channel/activities, but he absolutely squandered it in the most laughably arrogant way possible. If I was in his position, I’d be beyond grateful, work my ass off to be able to keep things up, accept and act on constructive criticism, and do everything I could to build a community and network with others. But instead, he just bitches and moans about everything, never takes accountability for anything while blaming everyone else, makes reckless and illogical choices, begs viewers for money, and just keeps doing the same shit over and over again until he’s on the verge of losing everything. So many people would kill to have the opportunities he’s had, yet he has essentially nothing to show for it other than making himself look like a total idiot.

Just remember, DSP told Joon that he liked his journalistic integrity and respected him. Just a reminder in case, idk, dsp tries to get the video taken down or throws a tantrum.
@cincymuttАй бұрын
Honestly, whenever I see him now, I can only begrudgingly respect the fact that he's still around, just doing the shit he's always done. And the spate of much bigger piece-of-shit content creators these days kind of makes him look better. He's just in his own little corner that you can easily ignore.

i stopped following DSPs shenanigans years ago but I did for a long timesince right before the start of pandalee. I clicked on a recent video of his and apparently STILL has a "tax situation". This guy is something else, but his followers are in another reality entirely.
