Thank you for making this video, I wish joplin back in the day was more serious about preserving the beautiful landmarks it had while it was growing, because it would have been awesome to have a real trolly system still operational

You are welcome! I'm happy that you enjoyed it. Yeah, it's shame there wasn't more forward thinking about preservation and leaning more into the history and Route 66 tourism dollars.

@@nathansmith7645 Most of the black and white images came an old Joplin history book I came across at the library and then I took the color images. 🌟

We"re relocating to the Joplin area soon. Went to check it out a few weeks ago and loved it! Everyone is so friendly! It felt really good to be there. Looking forward to joining the community, making friends and many happy times to come!

The older architecture is far & above much finer than the changes that have so unfortunately been imposed upon Joplin. Most of those changes & destruction of the older buildings had nothing to do with the dreadful tornado, but are the result of greed & short sightedness. It is a shame that people don't appreciate the splendid architectural history of cities such as Joplin.

I love stuff like this. you get to see the transformation right before your eyes. I can't even discribe how i feel when i see the old buildings and homes still standing and pretty much the same. So much history. Yes those buildings are harder and more expensive to maintain and keep in great condition but to me it is worth it. If regular maintenance is done it should be ok I am blown away by the details and pride they put into their work. Now buildings are just glass and steel etc/
