She should've known not to get into a car alone with three men she didn't know. Blaming her mother is wrong. Natalie made a number of bad decisions but they were HER decisions. She wasn't a child any longer.

Yes. The FBI basically closed the case & filed no charges. But her family's attorney & her family are not giving up. They plan to go to their States Attorney & and hope to get high level Diplomatic involvement in her case. Unbelievable! The video wasn't enough. They broke her neck, she was paralyzed, she couldn't communicate & was slowly dying because her body could only get limited oxygen due to the paralysis without the assistance of medical equipment . No, I haven't forgotten her case. I was a nurse who cared for quadriplegics & could only imagine the terror she was experiencing because she was unable to communicate at that time. It is an absolute travesty & I pray for her justice.

Per the FBI website: " The maximum sentence on the extortion count is 20 years in prison." and "The maximum sentence for the wire fraud count is 30 years." Interesting. I'm sure at this very moment some smart DA's in Alabama are trying to cook up a future playbook to use, should the opportunity arise. I'm not precisely sure how this would work, but the idea would be to agree to seek much lighter sentences in EXCHANGE for information about Natalee. The problem is, I can't see any way he could admit to Natalee's murder, or hiding of her body, without implicating himself in the murder. And murder is a much more serious crime than what he's charged with here in the USA.
