SBB are always gonna be the best in terms of quality, but these yellow toes are a close affordable runner up. Down the road these yellow toes will be sought after. I’m doubling up. One to rock, and one to stock. Nice review!!

@GMP you must be new when it comes to sneakers. SBB had good leather but there are muuuuuuch better quality leather on Jordan’s then the SBB, the Jordan 2 bin for example and there are many more, but you should research before making erroneous comments that show your ignorance, age, and lack of knowledge in regards to knowing leather quality on Jordans

Bro when you some it up on the end it hits so hard. Nothing can ever come close to SBB because it’s not just the leather or details but because of where we were in that point of time. Sbb and turtle dove dropped on my birthday that year. I hit both of them and I got hooked.

Your explanation of the History and quality of the SBB and Taxi’s is great Bro. I prioritize the quality of materials on sneakers and this leather is worth it. I wish Nike would just stop releasing terrible BS colorways of 1s with bad quality. They dominate the Apparel Market, so they should be able to release top quality items.

Soft, fake tumble does not equal "good quality".... the highest quality leather, by FAR, has been on the '85 cuts. Don't get me wrong, I love the soft AJ1s, but they're not actually high quality.

The SBB does have slightly better leather IMO. That softness of the leather was there from the get go, it’s not just age. The yellow toes are fantastic though, just not as good as the SBB

They honestly have the same type of leather, the SBB is just a tad bit thicker. The reason the SBBS age nicely is because the leather is naturally dyed and doesn’t have a bunch of other stuff layered on top. The Yellow toes have the same leather, just thinner and with a shiny gloss finish.

IMHO - I see a huge difference in the J1 Taxi (I feel the same is true for most newer J1 releases - and honestly Nike in general). Totally different (and less appealing) color on the Taxi. The materials look kinda cheap (to me anyway - to each their own). Although, it’s a $100-$200 sneaker vs paying 2K for SBB’s. Unless your ballin’, I feel like most people would be cool with paying $1800 less for a similar shoe. 🧶👟

I highly disagree the SBB is just a shoe that became a hypebeast shoe because at that time jordan bran was releasing a lot of 1s and people were not buying them...the SBB gained a lot of hype after the fact due to hypebeast.

I think the SBB looks like much higher quality and a much better color than the neon Taxi. I can physically see the difference in leather quality from the images. That said, SBB are like close to $2K so there’s that lol. Seems they’re manufacturing J1s much cheaper these days, but I have no idea. 💎🆚🚕
