Burroughs will always be KING! After he shattered his ankle when he missed a wall mat running sprints in a strange gym due to the pandemic he missed 14 weeks of training. This allowed Kyle Dake to finally - after 7 or 8 consecutive losses - squeak past him. And what did Dake do with his Olympic opportunity?!?!?! He got teched 11-0 in the second round of the Tokyo Olympics. Burroughs has an Olympic gold medal! Kyle Dake peaked in 2013 as a 4X NCAA champ!

Had no idea he was injured before recent loss to kyle. Props to kyle for consistency. But levels to this KB goat of this era

Kyle Dake went on to collect Bronze at the Olympics. He is also a 4x world champion. Saying he peaked in 2013, given his international career, is false. Dake lost to Burroughs 2x at the 2013 world team trials, 2x at the 2015 world team trials, 1x at the 2017 US Open. 5 losses in a row. Then he won the first match at the 2017 world team trials before losing the final 2. One very important thing to note is that in every single one of their matches (except the match at the 2017 US Open) Burroughs has had the benefit of sitting out of the challenge tournament. So the odds were always in his favour. If not for this favour, who knows how many times Dake would've beaten Burroughs and been a multiple time world champ before his first actual world gold in 2018

@@michaelfragomeni8263 Not only that, but the OP's comments completely overlook how awful Burroughs looked in Brazil. Yeah he got gold in London, but he looked horrid in Brazil so he wasn't a lock for a medal in Tokyo especially given the chaotic nature of training during the pandemic. And to say that Dake peaked in college is just outright delusional. He's now a multiple time world champion. I guess along those same lines David Taylor also peaked in college being he couldn't get past Burroughs either? Just delusional.

You don’t gotta drag other hard workers down to build JB up. The man’s accomplishments speak for itself.

@@HB448 Dake is no joke! He's a great wrestler - I never said he wasn't!

He’s essentially doing a Jack Dempsey drop step to gain the momentum for the blast double. Whenever he shoots the majority of the weight is on his front foot, just for a second, then while the weight is on the front foot he lifts it up to fall forward, the moment he begins to fall he pushes off his back foot and extends it all the way to drive forward.
