That's a really cool camera angle I don't think I've ever seen before for in-game action. Probably dangerous for the cameraman to be there, in a spot lots of pucks go out of play at high speeds and no protection from the glass, but still cool.

There's always a commentator, cameraman, or both between the two benchs. That angle just isnt always the best for live so you dont see much from it

@@djrondo1224 yea they've taken some hits over the years, mostly sticks though during scrums. I think the original commenter is a newer fan cause this camera angle isn't used often during broadcast, but lots during NHL released media

Tom Wilson is nothing short of a dirty player. He has consistently proven that he has no problem hitting a player from their blindside straight to their head. It isn't the league getting soft. It's the league trying to protect their players from potentially life altering injuries. He will always be a scumbag.

Buffalo was probably pretty close to a bench minor for delay of game after the ref went back to remind them to send someone to the box. I'm sure if he'd had to visit the bench a third time it would have been a 2-man advantage.

Just to say, because I'm pretty sure it's what's actually going on in the latter half of the video, Buffalo was probably asking to not put a player in the box for the minor (with 1:55 left, either they score and the penalty is over, or the penalty goes into the next period, so no need to if you don't have to). My understanding is you don't if it's a major, but you do if it's a minor.

@@buttkick22 Marchand plays dirty at times no doubt. What bugs me about Wilson is he’s 6’4” 225lbs and he takes runs at guys heads into the boards. He targets the head. I can’t argue Marchand, he’s done some dangerous stuff also.

@@detangojet considering marchand is the most suspended player in NHL history, and has three more suspensions than wilson, yea i would agree that he “sometimes” crosses the line and does “some” dangerous stuff lol. This hit was perfectly clean though. I don’t want to see tough hard nosed hockey disappear. It’s gotten to a point where new NHL fans are constantly demanding suspensions for perfectly clean hits if the hit is too big for them. That’s not a good trend. Wilson is a great power foward. Can put up 30g, play special teams, isn’t a liability defensively, sticks up for his teammates and is one of the better fighters around. Any old school hockey fan would be a fan of him. His type of play is considered a unicorn these days. One of the last true power forwards in the game. Yes, he has crossed the line several times. But at least he answers the bell for his type of play. He’s not taunting, diving, and handing out concussions and then running and hiding behind is teammates like a brad marchand type of player. Those types of weasel’s with no integrity should be way more vilified than the tom wilson types. Even matt cooke kept things honest by fighting shawn thornon for his hit on savard (even though the hit was actually legal at the time). It’s the dirty little rats that never answer the bell that are the true bottom of the barrel scum.
