That would work for about 10 seconds until that 12-year old told somebody else they were on social media and BAM, now you're off. Plus, it wouldn't be that hard for social media companies to use census data and determine the public's age if they wanted to. Heck, with most Facebook accounts, I could find out the age of about everyone within 6 degrees of separation of me. It'd be even easier for a social media company to do that. That doesn't even include language level analysis, requiring documentation to start a social media account, etc that should also occur. Just because social media is run irresponsibly by a bunch of millionaires doesn't mean it couldn't actually be run properly to prevent problems if they cared.
