Derek is $#*&ING hilarious. Just an opinion. Sure, he's included heart hitting elements that might turn some off... But, it stretches the line of what we can laugh at and what we want to laugh at: death, getting old, and being perceived to be an irrelevant human. Having a handicap sibling Really helps to comprehend the humor. Having a sense of humor that is constantly growing and learning how to laugh at anything is a super power. Gervais knows this and is helping people to open their minds, hearts, imaginations, and humor.

Not to mention, he himself said in past interviews that Gervais influenced him, so what's with him giving that stupid politican's answer? This part of the interview was tense to listen to. As seasoned as Conan is... when he would NOT back down on the Gervais thing, it was hard to listen to. If you compare someone to another person they are clearly upset by, you should just drop it. He was forcing a point that in his head made sense, but it created unneccesary tension with the guest. Jordan made a great joke and a great out about how he is probably more like his character, but Conan just wouldn't let go. C'mon man, read the room.
