Sorry for the less frequent updates. It's not that I am less committed to the channel, but I am just way more selective now and I spend lots of time rewatching lectures, because of the sheer number of clips that are already up. When I upload something that has the same message as another, I want to make sure that the new one conveys it better or in more detail. This way I keep the work interesting for myself and I hope it's more interesting for the viewers, too. I don't want to upload just for the sake of uploading and getting views. I also don't feel comfortable taking clips from major TV channels and KZbin channels that don't give me permission. I want this channel to be a useful ressource, like a clip database for sharing with friends & and family and an easy entry point into the full lectures.

@Terkaza
@Terkaza 5 жыл бұрын
I agree that the dreams and the way of thinking of the anima as "yourself, but feminine", a sub personality is more exact. I think that is the real definition of anima here. I don't think Carl Jung thought of "gender identity" when mentioning anima, it was not something you was "in entirety". It's more of a "side" of yourself, a subpersonality, but surely an important one. That's why I think i merges with you most of the time but sometimes express itself in moments you wouldn't expect. Like dreams, or interactions that suddenly makes you anima "pops out" and make you act a different way you would have "normally". I think it is a part of the Self in a sense that you can say that it is YOU but not YOU at the same time, whereas if it was something related to gender dysphoria you would rather say it is YOU and you reject the "actual" YOU. I sometimes catch some of my thoughts that are like that. The anima is the "feminine side" that you would like to express without shame as much as your "normal" side (animus), the key being a balance between those. Carl Jung also said that the encounter and the awareness of the anima was the masterpiece of an individual's developpement. On the wikipedia page on Analytical Psychology, there is in particular the following : "Often, when people ignore the anima or animus complexes, the anima or animus vies for attention by projecting itself on others. This explains, according to Jung, why we are sometimes immediately attracted to certain strangers: we see our anima or animus in them. Love at first sight is an example of anima and animus projection." I think it talks to everyone. That's why I think the fact that I feel immediately attracted to a specific type of girl, it is more or less the projection of my anima on them, strongly reinforced also by the fact that I like to imagine being this side of my Self, while I also don't have any kind of thoughts about "gender identity" or identifying to a girl, and I also equally like my "usual" side. I think this means that this is the unconscious me that I have yet to completely "assimilate" to be both sides at the same time, and thus reaching the "truest" version of myself.

There is a modern phenomena where women have very developed animus and neglected anima. That's kind of my case (even though I am working on that) but it is a very classic example of the "liberated modern woman"
@Tidoublemy
@Tidoublemy 5 жыл бұрын
Is being a slut really the pinnacle of a highly developed Animus? I would argue that modern women have a completely warped and twisted Animus. Many turn into miserable single mothers who endlessly ride the c*ck carousel for the rest of their days delusionally thinking that they'll find prince charming who wants to take care of someone else's children. No thanks! They eventually come to the very harsh realization that they were sold a false bill of goods when they inevitably end up impoverished and alone.

A woman does not have an anima. The relationship a woman has is between her ego (what is your understanding of yourself) and her animus. Jung's wife wrote a superb essay on the animus that deals with your subject. You can find it in the book "Two Essays" by Emma Jung.

The anima and the animus are part of the collective unconscious (following Jung of course), they're not part of the shadow (which is an aspect of the personal unconscious). So the shadow doesn't "break up in anima and animus". THey're extremely difficult concepts Jung himself thought few people would be able to understand, in fact they're alchemical symbols of the total man, the primordial androgyne. I'm not convinced at all of its psychological interpretation, of its place in the unconscious. In fact I'm pretty convinced by Jung's idea that a certain conception of the unconscious (viewed as the human soul in its greatness, vastness, and totality) has a direct parallel - is in fact what alchemy deals with. But I'm not at all convinced Jung went to the core of it when it concerns animus and anima, at least not at an articulate level.

Very curious how this manifests in homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism. I think the theory holds some merits to it, but is still incomplete in that regard. The principle might be universal, but the path an individual took with it is more variable than what's already laid out.
@ShaktipatSeer2
@ShaktipatSeer2 2 жыл бұрын
I've been thinking about that recently.. I really think a good chunk of what's going on with the huge popularity of transgenderism in young people is related to anima possession for sure. Quite literally. I wonder what Jung would say about that he would probably be really concerned at how young people are getting locked into their opposite gender identity.. They're going to have an extremely view of their psyche at a time when they're in their formative years.

Hmm, I wonder if the Romeo & Juliet reference at the end is a clue that deeper study in this area is a greater tragedy in itself. I’ve seen someone mention universals versus singulars in this regard, and we would do better to incorporate ourselves into whatever world we inhabit by recognizing a man as a father, husband, brother and a woman as a mother, wife, sister. It especially helps in combatting the sin of lust.

There's a clip at around 10 minutes into the video where Thom & Dajana lay their heads together and place their hands on each other's foreheads, mimicking the yin-yang symbol and creating a touching depiction of the Anima & Animus. ☯️ Another musical artist who created art around this topic is Peter Gabriel in _Blood of Eden._ 🍎

Nevertheless, we must not ignore our anima and animus. Though there is a risk to be possessed by them; we must confront them to realize what they want from us. In the anima case a man should ask his anima why does she have such a particular feeling and/or emotion which Jung called the Objetivation of the Anima. The more a man asks his anima about what she feels, the better it will be for him to understand her. In the animus case a woman should reflect why does she have a particular opinion about something, and moreover why is she so intended to generate such an argument for no particular reason. The more a woman reflects about her opinions; the better it will be for her to understand what she expects from others as well as to fulfills her own needs.

The repressed memories or unacknowledged ones keeps accumulating in the unconscious mind sometimes they form their own queue based on their primordial relationship. Repressed memories are erotic in its nature. A Male is aroused by looking/talking/touching a female because it accessed the repressed unconscious aide of him. It makes him and whole for few moments. It is like female has just a key, all the other things happen in himself & vice versa for female.This is a functional way of marriage sexual relationship institution developed over the history. The root of anima in man is mother, the most basic instinct is breast. It stores in the deepest unconscious mind. Over the period it is repressed. In adolescence, it can be seen that boys usually have breast fantasy. Jung says, overly developed anima causes man insist fantasy/ anyother perverted sexual disorders under developed anima causes difficulty in bonding relationships.

His 'Anima and Animus' typology comes the law of polarity and gender. Jung has an unscientific agenda at hand (not a malevolent one though).

Are there any groups I could join for like minded people because i feel a bit lonely at times. I'd really like to join a group where people talk about psychology and development and ideas in general😊 I want to find my group of people
@chrissparrowhawk
@chrissparrowhawk 4 жыл бұрын
If I may. Reading more of this and other related subjects is a good start. Issues have and still do arise when an individual seeks out others of like mind and only others of like mind to settle in a group. In group mindedness by its very nature excludes all who aren't in the group and it is this that is already dividing the world into groups who do not relate to each other. We self exclude in this process and mark ourselves as one of a group. We arent one of a group however but the ultimate minority, the individual. Seek out what makes you, an individual, into a better individual because as a better individual you will in all probability see the positive in other individuals and thus, as an individual, will have and want to take responsibility for your thoughts and actions in the world as an individual in this time and in this era. This action removes all excuses and historical reference and is the hard road to individual truth and it frees you from possession by those who are group minded and bent on calamity calling it motivation and shaping things to fit their version of truth. Read, read and read. If you read, you will be in the best of all possible groups of unrelated individuals whose collective knowledge will serve you well and better than any group can hope. Everyone feels lonely at times and even large groups cannot alleviate that feeling but knowledge can and probably will. Don't look for the like minded, look for the truth. Like Minded just results in the same people saying the same things in the same way which is the antithesis of freedom. Reading great books can extend your reach to understanding yourself and how you, as an individual, relate to the world whereas like mindedness in all probability does the opposite. Every person you will meet in life will suffer hurt, pain, anxiety and eventually they will die, why would you want to be anything but kind to them in the meantime? So, there's you, a small and tiny individual and there is the world, a huge and complicated monster full of snakes. Reading will help you realise that there is more to you, the individual, than you currently know. Take responsibility for your own actions, aim for the highest good, put your family together, help your community and friends, pick up your burden willingly and help those less able, grow the hell up and take on the truth as it reveals itself through reading. Most importantly, wish this for everyone. You are not a group, you are not a race, you are not a religion and you are not a culture. You are the ultimate minority, an individual. Now, get to the business of becoming a better individual and stop hiding in group identities. Go now and be well.

@@chrissparrowhawk Thank you so much for your response sparrow! I really appreciate the insight, maybe I also didnt give context. I have read books, and I continually read. I would just like to meet new people who have the same interests and have read the same books so we can exchange ideas and e.g I could ask someone else's opinion on carl Jung's beyond good and evil 🤷‍♀️ We are naturally social people and I would love to connect with people from different countries too. Also, I do not have a lot of friends and the ones I have right now are not avid readers even if I encourage them to journey with me. But besides going into that, the above is what I mean. Again i agree with what you say, but i would also like to connect with more people who want to self improve or are on the journey of. Thanks for the comment again.

@@femkegrundmann7556 Depending on where you live, one idea I've use with some success is to advertise locally either online or even better, in a library if you have one near you, that's where people seeking out decent literature usually end up and most libraries allow for discussion requests, try that. I'll talk to anyone, absolutely anyone about anything and everything but that's a more Socratic on the ball type of discussion that does yield good results regardless of the outcome if you aren't easily offended and you shouldn't be if the aim is to grasp. I liked Beyond Good And Evil, that nobody gets away with anything, ever. As for friends and perhaps counting them according to number in one sense, I Have three constant friends which believe me is a whole bunch of friends when the subject is being itself but I also have lots of acquaintances who are an outright challenge to everything I say and do and I value both sets. Talking to strangers is surprisingly informative, especially men who will have little issue with discounting anything you have to offer with low resolution explanations of why your existence on earth would better served if you spent more of it in the kitchen but there's learning in that attitude too because if want to attend to a decent garden you also have to deal with the snakes therein. The list goes on but I'm even boring myself now. Dr Peterson has a site called ThinkSpot which has some phenomenal contributors to it from all over the world and it's a good idea to contend with folks who are perhaps more intelligent than we are, it certainly does no harm. There are many other sites like this and what's good about them is that, when presenting your work, getting it up to scratch is probably 90 percent of the deal and that alone is a self teaching tool which I find invaluable. However you decide to start a discussion group, to start it is what's important, to believe that the subject matter which requires such attention is worth the small risk of rejection in some sense. But, who cares about that, right? Truth is worth sacrifice and Moral truth is worth sacrificing everything. Postmodernism has reared its head in much of the worlds seats of learning, you and I are it's target so, pick up the burden of what it takes to be a proper being in this world and get to it. That's what I'm doing and it is brutal but I can't think of anything better to do. Also, Happy New Year!

I liked the old philosophy and archetype talks and lectures like this. I was unhappy that the Media cornered Jordan in the feminist bile and antagonism that soon came. As a note on this a fellow called Joseph Campbell also had great talks on archetypes in the fifties and sixties. As many of these classroom lectures unspoiled by the idiot Media people [ especially BBC ] the better.

This lecture is old, Jordan became a different person when he gained his popularity and started debating children with coloured hair in collages. He went redpill, and delved into topics beyond his degrees and personal knowledge. Everything the "media" did and said to him is his fault. Some things turned out to be true considering Jordan was institutionalized not too long ago. He gets wackier by the year.

The Animus is the second-rate man in a woman. It's activated usually when she's dealing with men or masculine environments, and its projections can only be made known in relationship to men. It's hard for the uninitiated young man (or even older) to recognize its manifestion. Pick and choose your battles, gentlemen. But if you must battle it, then you must battle it for what it is and not what she is - a man. What's at the bottom of masculine disputes? Power. Put it in its place and tell it the bottom line, as a man. Be steady, firm, and short, with your feelings uninvolved, ready to take the next necessary move. If she doesn't respect that and/or responds with more pathology- don't walk, fucking run from that broad.

I'm a female but I feel I have an anima - a shadowed feminine side, while my masculine side dominates. I say this because I am drawn to femininity in other people, and have this internal feminine shadow that I project onto others or try to find in others to complete myself. I wouldn't have what you call "animus possession"; my masculine traits are healthy, natural and well-developed.
@astoriasxyle5713
@astoriasxyle5713 4 жыл бұрын
This concept is for individuals whose conscious are in line with their traditional roles. The individuals whose conscious are switched should develop their personality the other way around. i.e. anima (feminine energy) will be developed by thinking, independent males and females, while the animus will be developed by feeling, creative males and females (masculine energy).
@sup.2318
@sup.2318 Жыл бұрын
A disconnect from your femininity is still an issue. You may think your masculine traits are healthy, but if you yourself know you are "projecting" onto other the spiritual need of the feminine side, then it means that you need to reconnect to it. You can be a more masculine woman, but not at the expense of getting rid of the feminine side. The feminine is the core of a woman regardless of the upbringing. The feminine is creativity, vitality, nurture. You have to practing BEING (anima), not as much DOING (animus). Femininity, in the shadow context, has nothing to do with the societal interpretation of what feminine looks like btw. It's the expression of your spiritual existence that goes beyond norms and cultures and refers to creation and living in nature.

The Jungian community has moved away from the essentialistic view that Jung kinda had in his time. Animus and Anima now stand for the psychological "other", instead of this view that this thing belongs to this gender and that thing to the other.

Just because 'society' accepts your personality doesn't mean it's who you truly are or are ready to grow who you are. So many woman mask their ADHD and autism to have a personality accepted by society. So many men mask their emotions and it comes out as anger so they are acceptable to society. When Yung says you wouldn't have been able to develop or accept these other potential parts of your personality because you weren't fully developed is such bs. The personality that society accepts forces men and woman to NOT develop those parts of themselves because then they aren't ladylike or they're a pussy and need to man up. I completely accept that people need to pull from both sides of the binary but society doesn't allow that very readily. Plus the example Jordan gives of the anima (female part) being irrational emotion is so fucked up and part of the reason why women are not given proper health care all over the world. There is a bias against women that they are hysterical when it comes to illnesses and issues they are having. Especially problems within their reproductive system, after not having a period for 4 months I was told it was just stress, luckily it came back and Ive had no other problems. However so many women are told it is normal that they have such heavy periods they collapse or the cramps they get are fine even though they are genuinely debilitating and all women have to put up with it so get over it. But there is actually a serious underlying issue such as PCOS or Endometriosis or even cervical cancer. Women are also 73% more likely to be injured and 17% more likely to die in a car crash. All safety tests done on cars using test dummies are ALL based on the male body composition. You want to tell us that we have everything equal but we don't. This world has been built for men for a long time and we are constantly berated because we can vote and work so what else do you want? Oh women are more likely to get custody of their children, so we need to stop that from happening, because it's not fair to men. One win for the women should be revoked. I do admit that many women should not have custody and that bias ruins children's lives. It still shows the bias that women are care takers of children and men are not. That's fucked. It's all fucked

The male anema would be someone who cares little about the consequences of extreme masculine portrayal and philosophy. He just proved that gender roles aren't biological but social construct. The fact that there is anima in man and animus in woman proves that those sides of our personalities are suppressed by social norms and nurture. We know what Jung thought how complexes generate, and anima or animus are nothing more then suppressed complex.

The line between biological and social is very narrow to the point of almost non-existent. One influences the other. We know that genes aren't fixed nor that social constructs are for that matter. The line between the two is the spiritual.
