@Adam Said Jordan was given a prescription of benzodiazepines as an anti-depressant from his doctor. His wife got cancer during (after, or before?) one of their world tours (if I recall correctly), and the combined stress made him need anti depressants that could act quickly: hence the doctors choice of benzos. Jordan wrote his thesis on Alcohol, and he knew very well what the implications of benzos and other drugs have as an effect on the human body. Though, he grew too comfortable with his surrounding and also too distracted with suffering. This in turn meant he took benzos for longer than 2 weeks, as they were the only thing that gave him any modicum of help. After 2 weeks, your body grows dependant on the drug and will give minor withdrawal symptoms. This ended fairly catastrophically and could very well have killed him. They had to travel to Russia and get special help to save his life. TLDR: Jordan was given a prescription in times of suffering and became dependant on that prescription which had very massive consequences. Edit; whatever anyone else is saying is drastically misinformed, a brief read informed me.

Jesus gave us all life and He gave us all a purpose and it's Him, He's the true meaning of life. He came to save us and give us life, Jesus whom is the one and only true God and Creator came to earth 2000+ years ago to go to the cross to pay our sin debt in full. His sacrifice was sufficient to pay the penalty for the sins of the world (1 John 2:2). A created being could not pay the infinite penalty required for sin against an infinite God. Only God could pay such an infinite penalty. Only God could take on the sins of the world (2 Corinthians 5:21), die, and be resurrected, proving His victory over sin and death and that true and only God is JESUS! And He did all that because He loves us and wants to save us and have a relationship with us. Jesus is waiting for you to come to Him, He's the only way to Heaven, only He can save us from sin and from hell ( John 14, Romans 6:23, Luke 13:3). He won't cast you away from Himself if you come to Him. He calls us all to repentance, He loves us and wants to save us. believe and have faith in God then the Holy Spirit will come in and lead you to repent of your sins and God will forgive you of your sins and cleanse you by the blood of Jesus and you'll get born again by His Holy Spirit (John 3:3-19).

Just because he powered his way through it, it was often difficult to see how ill Dr. Peterson was. The raw emotionality, looking tired, or depressed showed he was struggling. It was too easy to chalk it up to the weight of infamy and age. But when you see him like this it becomes starkly clear he was very ill, for a very long time. Eh, JBP's probably an atheist by any "normie" definition of the term. He doesn't call or define himself as one, but his entire idea is that the psychological concept of God is powerful, not that a literal God exists.

@@matthewlowe2193 You may be right. I have heard him say that he chooses to live his life as though God exists. Faith is hard to maintain. The most devout struggle with their faith. But his ideas about psychology and culture are conservative, libertarian, and important.

I know it’s unlikely that Jordan will read this, but he is my hero. The day he announced his recent tour I bought a ticket for his show at the Chicago theater on March 11th. Yesterday that theater emailed me saying they would now require proof of vaccination for entry. To say I was deeply saddened is almost an understatement. Knowing Jordan‘s stance on this, I wonder if he would consider moving to any other venue in Illinois. I know multiple would gladly host him. If nothing changes, bummer. Sad for me. But he is still an incredible force for good! God bless.

Thank you Jordan, your work inspired me and taught me practical, invaluable lessons. I've gained immeasurable personal treasures from learning and practicing the 24 rules for life you highlighted in your books and lectures. I've become a better person, friend, colleague, and romantic partner. I've begun telling the truth and pursuing what is meaningful. I've watched my mood and my life improve dramatically over the course of the last year and a half. My character has strengthened, and I'm proud of the man I have become. I am finally at a stage in life in which I'm happy that I am me and not anyone else. I owe that in great part to you and can't thank you enough. I'm glad to see you smiling and in seemingly good health and a good mood.

I remember back in the 80's a 60 Minutes show where a camp survivor took the stand against one his Nazi tormentors. The man literally had a nervous breakdown when he looked at the monster his mind had conceptualized and saw just a man. He had the harrowing realization that he could have been that man. Isn't this the gift of Jordan Peterson? We see a person who shows us that we can be good, not some figment of great, but truly good in spite of our faults. There are national treasures and once every few generations, we are fortunate to have a world treasure.
