''Also it's not wrong admiring him, don't you think?'' It definitely isn't, but fanatically idolizing him may either bring about serious blind spots on your part, or may just as well reveal underlying blinds spots which have led you to generate a distorted perception of the role he oughta fulfill, and which he is able to fulfill in your life, being not the only one of his kind for there exist rather many minds like him, even more proficient, eloquent, or holding certain attributies more advanced than his, while in other ways being less erudite or so. @introspectah7 жыл бұрын
''Even in my every day life I see the same pattern'' Of course you see the same patterns, josh, all of us do; it's the effect of pattern recognition as result of an actively run confirmation bias which constantly, near autonomously, seeks to consolidate its conviction or presumptions about ''the world''; which is not an accurate reflection of ''the world'' at all, but much rather is a projected representation of your version, interpretation and sensory experience of the world. ''So what are your intentions?'' I'd find it baffling if you would truly not have grasped the intention which i had so clearly put across, but just in case, i'll paraphrase: Well, to keep it simple, i might just quote my self, and see what about my original comment you had failed to comprehend: ''In case you actually want to fulfill your natural craving, i can hook you up with plenty resources that will most certainly restore your confidence [in the reliability, beauty, splendor, loyalty, strength and great character of so many women out there]. Question then follows; maybe you don't want to try to disprove your easily refutable presumptions of the world, and regarding the nature of some of its key protagonists, because such an act of inevitable correction might seriously destabilize the already liable firmness of your foundation?'

Going through this comment section is a little unnerving. Why is everyone trying to attribute his battles against SJW's of today, to a lecture which occurred in 2002 in regards to parenting. This lesson implied that parents should not ignore what their kids are telling them (its childhood psychology), yet everyone attempts to convert this lesson into one which applies to the political sphere. Signed, An anti-sjw Libertarian.
@junelledembroski91835 жыл бұрын
Robert Naylor It does apply. SJW’s today ate the result of them and their parent having Peter Pan syndrome. They’ll never grow up. I was an SJW, but when I had kids, I couldn’t raise them like a child would raise them. I gave up on politics altogether now. I can’t be with social justice warriors or go into the warrior’s justice social. Both side of the isle are the same thing, just backwards.

Haha the tow truck is towing away the bakery truck at the end! Enjoyed that story. It reminds me of another that I read as a kid called "Because a small bug went Ker-choo" (or something of the kind) about how small problems cause incrementally bigger and bigger problems, and eventually lead to chaos. (A bit like the old lady who swallowed a fly, except I guess that's kind of the opposite to a problem that grows because you ignore it.)

Wow... almost brought me to tears. There's nothing defining about life than this, in my opinion. I quote here from Adventure Time, "Don't let the dragon drag on". Being to slowly and steadily notice it... look within ourselves with our surroundings. Slay the dragon if you have to. Negotiate, befriend and ally with the dragon if you have to. Embrace and celebrate the dragon if you have to. Just don't let it do only one thing: unconsciously kill us all.

Arsene Lupin try not to outsource your ability to teach you will learn a lot from your kids by teaching. Sit down take the time to absorb Petersons messages and wisdom and try and share it with your kids to the best of your ability! It will have so much more meaning to hear it from you and seeing you practice this timeless wisdom.

Personally, for me at 24 it doesn't matter so much to me if my dad would teach me how to live meaningfully, I've had to learn that the hard way. What would matter most to me is that if he lived more meaningfully. Nevertheless, life goes on!

I'm not sure it is because of the content of his lecture, but he sounded more cheerful when he was younger. Nowadays he seems more serious and kind of grim. I think dealing with people with mental disorders and studying various maleficent personalities mast have affected him a lot.

This video has been a massive help to me. It’s amazing when human experience is put to story how it becomes much more applicable in life. In the last two days I addressed a couple small dragons, and today I took on 3 fairly ominous ones. They do get smaller as soon as you look at them. Also I’ve found myself less frustrated by my more painful emotions. I’ve sort of accepted them as a part of life that can be limited in their destructive tendency if I simply pay attention to the matters causing the pain. Got a few more scary dragons to look at soon.

A spot-on message. I feel like he wrote this book himself. He constantly refers to anomalous and unexpected things emerging in your life as “the dragon of chaos.” And he routinely says that it’s the worst kind of chaos that happens when you live the consequences of your own actions and you know you put yourself there. When you put off things till another day that you could deal with in that moment but you’re too lazy, you’re effectively making your future self weaker by giving them something to deal with that they wouldn’t have had to otherwise. Because future you will have problems associated with that day too- which is a tragedy- but when those problems of the day are compounded with the shirked problems from yesterday, their convergence- and the knowledge that you could have avoided it- is hell.

My wife and I have been together for 20 years. In that time all.of our friends have split or divorced. One of the reasons we believe we have stayed the course (aside trust etc) is because we are always upfront an honest about everything, even if it's a difficult or even painful subject. Nothing is ignored for long, if at all.

Priorities also help! My parents are still together as well after 35+ years. All my dad's other siblings aren't. Yet, over the years they and even his parents always criticized how he lived his life. Education, financial, lifestyle, etc. And, even during those years, they would call him for advice, only to try their own method again and again. Watching it over the course of 35+ years has been very eye opening.
