OK Mr. Know-it-all, what it all boiled down to - your beloved "kulaks", even as group, just could'n produce as much food as it was nessessary for growing republic(USSR) that was rebuilding the country from a largly agrarian backyard empire into large industrial powerhouse that it became in just a couple of decades. The ineffisent Russian empire that recently lost wars to all( even tiny ass Japan) was doomed anyways. Was it all bloody? Hell yah! Where there ways around it, ways to do it all peacefully and nicely to please averyone? NO! Stalin was a freaking wizard! I grow up in a "kolhoz" by the way, so I know what I'm talking about. Individual farms prosper, but they will never give as many goods as the collective ones. Period! As always check your sources.

What are you talking about? Also, Russia is large, ussr even more so. So dekulakizarion was totally uncalled for from the economical standpoint. The government could've rolled out kolhoz without stealing land from those who owned it rightfully. But oh we gotta punish those oppressors. Really?
