I’m not a lil Wayne fan, but I don’t get why the whole guitar community hates on him. He liked guitar so he “plays one.” He’s the same with skateboarding, he liked it so he started skating. He’s not good at either but the skateboard community accepts him while the guitar community is too pretentious to let someone have some fun. God forbid he makes a kid get into playing the guitar who wouldn’t otherwise.

People forget there's a HELL of a lot more to playing a synth than just being skilled at a keyboard. It could be argued that synth is the most difficult instrument of all, since one is manipulating not only the parameters of the sound one constructs, but manipulating TIME as well, if one is using a sound that changes (modulates) in real time. People may understand the basics of the wave-form of a struck piano string, but a good synthesist understands not just the waveform he/she WANTS, but how it needs to be electronically created, how to work the filters, EGs and outboard effects...PLUS how it will interact with other sounds that may or will be present in the overall sound, of either the band or of the final recording, etc. Ex. You come up with a killer low-end sound, but what about the band's bass player's sound? That's where Jordan is just as accomplished as he is on the keys. I know who Jordan is, never heard of the comic-relief guy opposite him...
