“I knew a boy who liked to draw, he drew pictures that nobody saw. He was most artistic late at night, in the bathroom out of sight. He kept a secret no one knew, he didn't tell a soul and his gallery grew. His drawings were different, no paper or pen but needed a bandage now and then. We stood by the river under the stars, he rolled up his sleeve and showed me his scars. He felt embarrassed and looked down at his shoes. Then I rolled up my sleves and whispered 'i draw too'.” Without the dark there's no light and without the pain there'd be no life so even when it hurts don't try to run, be happy that you made it, Just be open and embrace it

This song comes to my mind so often. I'm 13 and my ex boyfriend has assaulted me twice during our NINE MONTH relationship. He did it in my bedroom. And he still denied it. He apologised, but I couldn't forget the way his hands felt on my body. I felt so.. disgusted. Even now, I can't feel the same way in my room. I still remember the way his hands felt on my body. I still scrub my skin so hard it turns red, because I feel so disgusting. This song gives me strength. This song reminds me that it wasn't my fault. He didn't take my voice. So I will use it. And I will be as loud as I can.

I’m 15, I was sexually assaulted by a classmate in my science class every other day for 2 months, we were sat at the back of the class so no one saw a thing, he knew that I wouldn’t cause a scene over it so he would do anything. When I finally told the school he got mad at me, he was let off with just a “stern talking to” some of my closest friends told me it was my fault and that I deserved it. I’m still in the same class as him and was only moved a few seats over from him, he constantly looks back at me and stares at me in class. If still upsets me but I’m slowly learning it’s not my fault and although he was mad at me, I’m proud of myself for speaking up. If any of you can relate to this in anyway, please just know it gets better and you are absolute amazing and so so strong 💛

A trust was rebuilt in 16 years that was broken within seconds, my sister grew up think it was just a bad dream not knowing the truth. It was to protect her. She was going to be told if she had asked, she had trusted him. She’s my older sister, parents were on holiday and it was just supposed to be an innocent sleepover. I’m now going to be 20 soon, and my sister 26, he will not be forgiven. Most of these things happen with people close, everyone stay safe. You can speak up, this song helped me. You are loved ❤

I was nearly raped by a "friend" of mine. She would constantly try and get me to do things I didn't want her to. She would stop when she heard an adult. I kept it secret for two years. I'm 15 now. I haven't seen her, but it scared me. I am now terrified of going to other peoples houses for sleepovers, being in the same room with someone, and being able to dress the way I used to now. I want everyone to realize when he says "I'm more than my body" that you have control of yourself. You are strong and deserve so much in this world. I love everyone here. ❤❤❤

I too am a dancer, it’s honestly about your passion. Your determination. And will to prove that no matter previous judgements (your body type, gender, age, etc) its something that you’re expressing through the art of movement. Even if it’s not for performance, it’s a way to have fun and thrive while you’re in the moment. (I hope that makes sense)

Jachele Harris that and because I was sexually abused also, is exactly why I’m so open and honest with my young daughter about this. Should anything at all ever happen she needs to know it’s wrong and to tell someone. It’s made clear the same goes for even our closest family members and that I’ll believe her. People need to know there’s a safe place they can run to, especially little ones who are most vulnerable.
