I'm a week and a half out after ACL surgery. Let me thank you Jordan for saving that man's knee even if he didn't. That truly was a class act, Jordan. Top respect, sir. 👍

Word. After a little while, you know you got the sub locked up or could have slapped it on and got a break in an "oh shit" situation. You don't need the tap to confirm it, use it as another chance to practice transitioning to the next move as if someone had defended correctly. Feed your confidence, not your ego.

Hey mate. Just a quick thank you from a lowly blue belt in Melbourne, Australia. I love your videos. I think I've advanced more in the last six months watching your vids than I did the previous year. What makes the difference is the rolling commentaries explaining the 'concepts' of each move you make. You've answered so many questions I didn't even know I had and I now have a much better understanding of the 'why' of every move. Up until now I've largely just learned by wrote, following specific mechanical instructions without understanding why I need to do them. Your explanation of the reasons behind each move has helped me immensely. Thank you from a big fan 🙏

This week my professor put me into a heel hook and just looked at me instead of applying pressure. I nodded my head and we slap bumped and started again. It was much appreciated. Some stuff goes from pressure to injury without the pain phase that makes people tap. Love to see black belts concerned with health over getting the tap. :P

Nice man! Because you stayed in a stance while working for that takedown, you had the lift available when you transitioned to the single. It’s also much harder to get thrown from there with his overhook when you’ve got that flex in your knees-bump the hips and lift. Looking good brother!

I belive it is part of the Berimbolo system. Just search Berimbolo from side control and you will find it. As a basic Berimbolo and a good starting one, Jordan would look to drag his opponents top leg towards him, feed his own right leg through so the insides of the knees are together and then do the roll that he did. In the video, it looked like he just went straight for the roll and was looking to catch his opponents leg during the roll. For me it's tougher to do that way but I have only recently started looking at Bolo's. If you watch a berimbolo tutorial you should be able to see what I mean if I have explained it right 😂 Alternatively, follow the above but instead if Jordan sliding his right leg through, he can put his left leg in the gap and do the roll and land in what we call pretzel-bolo which is a bit safer as it is harder to counter the bolo but also a couple of steps more to get the back from the end of the roll through. I won't link a video out of respect of Jordan in case he wants to make a video on this or has one already that I've missed. Most You can hit berimbolos from a lot of positions and most videos will start from DLR. Some will class the above as a ninja roll but we just use the Berimbolo term where I train. Also, congrats on the blue belt! 🤝

Many coaches tell their students to keep going with submissions and if their opponent doesn’t tap then they’ll break, I don’t think it’s smart, many bjj practitioners end up injured when it could have been avoided. If both fighters in training think about each other they’ll be able to have those teammates to train another day
