*I never participated in causal relationships and hookup culture.* I’m 6’4, handsome according to most women. I was a star basketball player on my HS and College bball team (D2). I had my reasons for avoiding hookup culture but it’s crazy how you get scrutinized by your peers, both women and men for wanting a serious relationship; and waiting for it. My wife is the only person I’ve been with and being married means nothing to some women. I work in the corporate world and women will ask me about my wife and children and still make multiple passes of wanting me to sleep with them.

Intimacy traditionally was a sacrament to marriage and in reality is making a biological statement about the person your giving yourself to. “I’m willing to mix and carry on my bloodline with you” that’s what intimacy is inherently. People have totally glossed over that reality for the sake of impulse and convenience
@TheBlazingEagle21 күн бұрын
We all feel the reality and weight of that biological statement. That’s why body count bothers people. The person you’re with has made that biological statement with multiple people, even if they didn’t mean it. It’s inherently devaluing, maybe embarrassing, and implies they don’t take themselves seriously to have made such a serious statement with people they weren’t taking seriously.
@phoenixrisin226918 күн бұрын
@@TheBlazingEagleHigh body counts for women have much worse implications. The loss of the ability to pair bond, fracturing of the psyche, low self esteem, conditioning compulsion, micro chimerism and telegony and the list goes on.
@mstamper7717 күн бұрын
If you aren’t interested in having children, assumptions about carrying on bloodlines would be wrong. Willingness to be intimate can be totally decoupled from reproduction and bloodline bullshit. The advent of birth control moved that decoupling from theoretical to actual. We are human beings first and gendered human beings second. Practicalities of biology, not biology itself dictate culture. Change the practical situation and you can at least theoretically, change the culture. What impedes change is not biological reality, but the vast amounts of art, literature, religious practice , etc. that ingrain older practices and that is nearly impossible to avoid exposure to.

Eventually we divorced and today I understand I didn't know how to vet a proper man. I really needed help. I was pure with good intentions and he turned me into sharp and distanced person. I still care for my teens nowadays and wonder how my kids will make families. I so much wish they chose wisely and the person they chose will not change overtime....bc that also happens. I know men sometimes have it difficult but in my case I was the one at home and overwhelmed also had to always work to support finances and he was the one into casual relations meantime. It was heartbreaking. It is much easier to be alone than be cheated on. Whoever cheat they cheat on the spouse but also they cheat on the children too. Jordan and his daughter discussed that most normal average women actually dont feel good after hooking up because there is no emotional connection, its obvious...so they dont continue with such habit because they crave the connection or also the expert Sarah Hill also confiurmed from psychological point women regeret much more often sleeping with random guy. In comments there are often comments from women saying that they gave sex to a man, thinking he will be her boyfriend, but usually these guys dont wanmt commitment, if she gave him sex early....Because psychologically it doesnt work that way and coaches say the same. They say dont give the man sex early....because even the best men, are not motivated to build a relationship if you give him sex early. Its probably a psychological and hormonal thing...They say it is like when some website gives you movies for free, and after 3 months they wannt you to pay 15 dollars a month. Most people refuse because they watched it for fvree before......The same way good men refuse commitment, because she hoped that after giving him sex he will be motivated to build a relationhip.... coaches explkain because women fall in love early on during first sex....men fall in love much later because men have different hormones , so he falls in love after month or so after building the true intimacy and emotional connection. so she is supposed to give him the sex after few weeks. It seems those women who do hook up are brainwashed by the culture, and some suggest they dont do it for pleasure but money or also lack of role models in their family. other wise they wouldnt...then they realise the money isnt ok anyway.

Our biology is wired for bonding and reproduction, and it can overlook the nuance our minds have evolved, making this cycle likely to derive in an unsolvable incompatibility

If you truly begin with the understanding that every human life - within it - holds a spark of the divine, and we are made in the image of God, (as did many of our progenitors), it changes the mode of being - ie we operate our lives differently, simply by virtue of our worldview representing the fact that we know we are divine vessels. It's a completely different conversation with someone, when you operate (in discussion) with others, in an understanding that we are not just interacting with them, but interacting with the spirit of that person (who is simply occupying their physical body) - that all persons are intrinsically valuable, rather than just a clump of cells (which "science" wants us to believe). No wonder the world is such a screwed up place.

Woman get a lingering of "what if's?" after sex happens from brain chemical interplays, where at that point a man can be "like what the F" did i just do, since the urge and tension has been released? Can you see how it's important to understand there is a middle point from where men and woman, meet and in that polarity of behavior we have mechanisms that are different but draw each other in and keep each other there. Woman can get hung up on a guy that legit, just thinks the worst of her after sex happens and wondering why trauma surrounds relationships. The movements you are talking about are the most extreme, open, boastful forms of it being celebrated and encouraged but just represent the most extreme form of it on a spectrum, on a continuum. There are many more subtle and less egregious forms of this in families. Still as lethal and egregious and scarring. I know. As Solomon would say, nothing new under the sun, not really. No, adults are just as selfish, it's just more latent because most adults have learned that it isn't a great strategy to make everyone else in the world aware of the fact that you care more about yourself and your needs than everyone else. Children don't try to cover up their natural urges.

This legitimises restrictions on the right to vote. No one wants leaders or a social development based on the psychic characteristics you describe here belong to people who behave in line with reproduction with low investment. At the same time, we know that people make decisions based on what the individual thinks best serves his or her own situation. Consequently, the right to vote must be limited to adults with ten years' work experience outside government-owned enterprises who live and work with a partner with whom they have two or more children together.

I think it’s normal to go through a period of casual intimacy. I personally have always been in a relationship and never have had a one night stand but I’ve met loads of people who have had casual sexual interactions and then later in life finally settled down with someone for the long term. I think a benefit to having casual intimacy with people helps you identify more precisely what it is you’re looking for in a person. Because of your past intimate experiences you learn more about what you want and want you don’t want from a relationship.

I completely disagree. The more you sleep around the more chances of you monkey branching in a serious relationship.
@yusufhousini23 күн бұрын
I can't help but disagree. I understand many people believe they have to "try it out" and see what they like --nope, the consequences of practicing 'sex with the intention to break up when you're "done" or it gets boring' leads people to develop a chronic state of seeking out a new/better mate EVEN when they're taken or satisfied with the relationship. Humans are ruled by habits, sure some can break free or retrain their subconscious, but when you act out the habit of being with someone and then leaving you're not only fucking up your oxytocin receptors but also reinforcing the neural pathways that will dictate your future behavior. And then people wonder why they can't settle down after having slept with many or had countless relationships --and when they do it's usually due to desperate complacency, not satisfaction. A great alternative is to only seek out extremely serious relationships, try premarital counseling and question each other's goals/morals/personality/preferences and plan to commit and truly commit. I'm aware this is rare and hard to come by but if you stick to it and go to places that most likely have people with these values, it's possible. "Till death do us part" literally means nothing these days cuz before you both practiced the act of being with other people and then eventually (or really soon after) leaving them, what do you expect your brain to do now, keep you together just cuz you said you would?? Once the entactogens (honeymoon phase chemicals) run out at 3-6 months you'll immediately begin to seek someone better or an excuse to get out.
@andy76423 күн бұрын
This is a misunderstanding and conflating between casual sex and multiple dates. From the origination stand point, casual sex comes from short term gratification with a short term goal: dopamine; while dating someone for a while - with sex - requires emotional investments and effort to get to know the person. Long term practicing casual sex pushes the person toward negative emotions, and ultimately unable to establish trust in their dating partner. Or they simply just stop dating. Or starting to lower the value of marriage to validate their feelings of being single (yes, this trend is already there). On the other hand, multiple dates (not on multiple partners at the same time) eventually lead to multiple breakups, that's bad news. However, through learning from experiences the person will find a compatible partner and will be able to build a long term relationship with them. Not all casual sex chasers will be single forever, [some] of them will be able to break out and have a functional relationship. Not all long term relationships last forever, [some] of them will break and one of the partners fall into the sex chasing cycle. I don't condemn all casual sex chasers, I don't believe all relationships will last. Regardless, to stay as a good person - for you and for your loved one - you must aim up, for long term investments. Only then, you'll find the responsibility, accountability and ultimately, meaning of life. If you aim for short term gratification, you'll also become an object for others to find gratification on you, and will lose your way in the process.

The implication you’re making is people that are open to short term relationships are ready for long term relationships? That’s not making sense to me. Though, sure. People that haven’t been in relationships idealize what they could/should be, naturally. It’s probably why they haven’t been in a relationship because the reality of modern people is extremely disappointing as far as good prospects for long term relationships.

I think Jordan is missing how casual sex works. Usually how it happens is a guy lowers his standards to have sex, so it stays casual because the guy doesn't' want to be exclusive with a woman below his standards. Women go for it because maybe the guys a little out of their league and they want him and this is a way to sort of get him. Its a game really where each sex is trying to get the absolute best partner they can get. Women end up in hoe_math's three categories: keepers sleepers and sweepers. I'm sure men fall into categories as well, but women haven't named those categories yet or I just don't know what those categories are yet. Boyfriend, Fucboi, Niceguy maybe? Or maybe Chad, Boyfriend, Niceguy?
@andy76423 күн бұрын
I don't think he was (interested in) explaining how the casual sex chasers pick their sex partners. That's not the point. The point is what casual sex chasers will most likely BECOME when they participate in that "game" for a long time. There are multiple ways and reasons to choose casual sex partners, but output - what the chasers will be - are likely the same; and this is the point.

The male biological strategy is to spread genes as far and wide as possible, theoretically. The female pays the higher price for reproduction, so by default is the one who 'sets the standard'.
