Hey, Jordan. I enjoy watching your longer videos because I can see and hear your thinking process. I often listen to your videos while I'm doing stuff at home, too (this is when I'm so busy that I can't sit down to watch). But then again, I watch your videos while sitting down and relaxing. So go ahead and keep making these; I personally enjoy them.

I also appreciate the longer videos and seeing/hearing your thought process. Thanks for sharing that with us Jordan!🥰

I like videos over 30 minutes but under 60 minutes. So this one is perfect.

I love the budget sheets for Christmas. I would have to add a grocery line. I spend more money on groceries for the holidays.
@JordanBudgets19 күн бұрын
That is a great idea! My mom still covers a lot of the Christmas meal traditions and I usually cover a small side. Tradition here is I do a big breakfast and my parents come over and have breakfast and watch the boys open presents, then my mom covers lunch. Breakfast is cheap though so I'm usually able to just squeeze it in to my weekly grocery budget. I should have mentioned that in the video though and I'm sure at some point it will become a bigger expense for me when I help with lunch more. ❤

Great breakdown to prepare for next yr. I like the individual shopping with each boy and the ornaments. Your budget is actually not bad. I think I have a strategy every year and I fail. 😂💙

I like the longer videos and enjoy the chatting. I’m an empty nester now but when my kids were around 10/12 we started doing experience gifts more then traditional under tree gifts. They still got reg gifts but not as many or as big and it was a good decision for us, they still talk about those trips, outings etc. much much more then they do about the under tree gifts.

I love the long videos! I watch while I do my chores... like dishes. I just set the phone so I can see and hear it. Makes the time go by faster

Thank you! I don't know why I get so hung up on the time/ thinking it's too long. Something I'll work on in 2025 b/c I also like longer videos so I need to calm down about watching the clock, lol. ❤❤❤

Hi Jordan, I really enjoyed your chatty videos & I think you did great considering how expensive everything is right now & I just love the idea of creating a breakdown for next year's Christmas ❤❤❤
@brandi171919 күн бұрын
I feel everything was expensive. I spent way more than I planned. I had $600 saved up but then spent $1000 more. I feel like I didn't get much out of it either 😕 Differently budgeting better for 2025.

Hi Jordan, I love the long chatty videos, I think what you spent is reasonable, considering how expensive everything is, I love the idea of pre-planning for next Christmas while all is fresh in your mind, I loved the idea of having the boys pick two ornaments, I may start doing that with my kid.
@JordanBudgets19 күн бұрын
Thank you! And its a fun one, I look forward to seeing what they will pick every year. ❤❤❤

Honestly as parents we tend to over spend every Christmas even though we say we have a budget. Just seeing them excited and happy is worth it in the end.
@JordanBudgets19 күн бұрын
This is so so true. Out of all of the categories and savings and things happening all year, christmas is the thing that just seems to get MAJORLY away from me. And I don't even feel bad about it, lol! ❤❤❤

Great breakdown for next Christmas. When it comes to video length for me it depends on what it is. A live stream (the ones I go back to watch) that are 1 1/2 hours long are way too long for me, but a 35 minute cash stuffing or catch up is perfect because there's a point to it.
@noonecares132716 күн бұрын
To me your long videos are better than watching money related asmr - really satisfying and interesting but still natural and relatable This year I spent about 300€ for Xmas related things (mainly gifts for parents and sibling), but since I'm a full time student and only have a low income that's over half my monthly salary😅

I would of took those batteries back and got a refund. Great Christmas budget breakdown. That's what I was thinking with the Walmart sale it's good to prepare for next year. Now I have to set up my budget for Christmas next year.
@JordanBudgets19 күн бұрын
I hope you have as much fun setting up your Christmas budget as I did! I should have taken the batteries back, thats a good idea. I already opened them and stuffed them in junk drawers but at least I'm set for the year.. or two.. lol ❤❤❤

Why don't you do one of the 52 weeks going forward (starting with 1) and the other starting with 52. That way you can consistently budget $53 and see which way actually inspires you. For me it's starting with the larger amounts and causes me less stress toward the end when I'm starting to get over by the end of a long challenge.

My kids are adults and married. I gave each couple $500. We draw names in my big family and have a $75 limit. So I spent on gifts $1075. I bought some new decorations for $150 and I went to a Christmas concert with my book club. Dinner and the concert was $150. Some new winter clothes for myself $200. Total $1575

Hey Jordan, so happy you had a great holiday! I just purchased an advent calendar because I thought the same thing I didn’t wanna buy one that you use and throw away. I bought a wooden one so hold tight. Let me show you the one I got it actually lights up and it is a complete wood advent calendar. I’ll show it here either the end of this month which is just in a couple of days in January and I’ll give you the link for it if you might be interested in looking at it I got it during the November special Black Friday sale and I think I paid $38 for it. It’s regularly I wanna say 58 and it’s absolutely beautiful and it’s got 24 little wooden pull out drawers! I also got one for my pets which is also reusable. I’ll be showing those here shortly and giving links! I think I’m gonna do the same. I was gonna do a whole big thing for 2025 but I’m not feeling it right now because I was so inconsistent way behind out of control and over the budget several times or not even doing my budget at all! so I think I’m doing a month by month goal set up instead of an entire complete overhaul except for a few things! I’m making a lot of changes this coming year as today is my birthday and being 48 years old I feel like there’s a lot of changes I need to make and working on that currently right now!.

Definitely not too old for the train ride…I took my boys on a Holiday Express pj train ride last year (they were 15, 14, & 10) and although my older 2 didn’t seem too overly thrilled about going, they had a great time and my middle son was the first to ask if we were doing it again this year when the Christmas season started. I also took my FCCLA officers on a dinner train experience during our officer retreat one year and they LOVED it!! And they were juniors and seniors in high school.

I haven't totaled everything yet, but I probably spent every bit of $3000. I have 3 children, my parents, S/O parents, a sister and her bf, 2 brothers one has girlfriend with 3 kids. My niece and her boyfriend. Its a lot of people. This was one of the first years I have had the money to buy everyone something. It was nice But I definitely want to tally up my spending and do some shopping throughout the years and watch sales and hopefully lower my budget for next year.

I spent USD 1,151 on gifts / activities for my kid, family members and friends. Some things that I will pay attention for next year is the various food drives I donate to. I also way under budgeted for a Christmas dinner for my kid and her friends. I thought pizza at a nice restaurant would not be expensive. I was wrong 😀. ETA: About US$ 400 was for my kid.
