Hi Jordan. I love all of your productivity tips and tricks! Do you have any suggestions for someone who does shift work where every day is totally different?
@theeGeiisha5 жыл бұрын
Hi, although I used to love alone and I don't have a family of my own, but I still had the same problem getting my stuff done with different working hours and always a different day off during the week (I had to work Saturdays) so what helped me to get everything done was to make "routines" designed for each different shift. I'd plan when I'd go grocery shopping and doing laundry and all the other things. So when I started early in the morning I'd only plan for a few things after work..on days when I went to work after lunch I knew I could run errands and prepare food for the next day or work.. but it really helped having a schedule for every different work possibility:)
@theeGeiisha5 жыл бұрын
Of course I mean "live alone" in my first sentence:D

What Mascha did is exactly what I would suggest. Set up different schedules for every shift scenario!

Amber Clark We have this issue too, because of my husband's work schedule. In her block system video she says you can make a different block schedule for each, so I've been working on trying that. I have about 5 different ones so far. I hope that helps answer your question! ❤

“Sleep in till noon” I feel like that was directed at me... 🙄 we get the kids every there week so this week is our last week with them before school starts. They start the week they come back. We’ve reinforced bedtime and getting up and getting dressed once they wake up. They eat school lunches so no rush there. I need to get hooks for back packs though! We’ve done work books all summer since both parents had to agree for the summer program and didn’t. I need a clothes system so going to work on this today.

Kim Jay I keep a foldable net basket in my kids closet and as I realize they outgrew it I throw it in there. That helps a lot.
@katieamarsh5 жыл бұрын
I kept some old costco diaper boxes. I label them with a size and throw the clothes in as my older kid grows out. Relabel when the size goes up. I’d wash it, fold it, box it, and put it in the basement. It was ready to go straight into drawers when it was time for that size. As my younger child grows out of things, I either throw it away if it’s in rough shape or I donate it to a charity thrift shop. No mess and it’s a tax write off.
@sarahs39885 жыл бұрын
We have to switch clothes out for fall/winter and for spring/summer with 6 kids it used to be a nightmare having different sizes, seasons etc to go through. Now we have a system set up where each child has their own clothing tote. In each tote are the child has all their off season clothing, and all their hand-me-downs from the child older then them. So for example our oldest daughter has her winter clothes in her box, and any clothes that were too big for her. When it comes time to go through them we will pull down her box, she will put her summer clothes in her tote, find any winter clothes that still fit, and any of the too big clothes that now fit. Any clothes that no longer fit then go into her little sisters tote. My second daughter then does the same, handing down the clothes that don't fit her into our youngest daughters box. Any clothes that she grows out if go into a baby girl clothes tote for if we have another girl. The same with the boys clothes. We no longer worry about sizes or seasons, just take out each child's box one at a time, which we generally spread over a week, and it doesn't feel like such a giant mess or chore anymore. The older kids do it mostly on their own at this point. Just wanted to share because this was a life changer for me with my 6 little ones.
@donnanorris29395 жыл бұрын
Your dot System for telling who’s close is who’s is sheer brilliance!!!! I only had one child, and she is grown and moved out (to college) three years ago. But for those who still have young ones at home, this is a brilliant idea!! (When they outgrow it, just add another dot, & pasa it down to the next child!) Just be sure to try to get at least one brand new thing for the younger ones each year. Make sure to get a (permanent) laundry marker (labeled as such!) kind of Sharpie pen, not just a regular sharpie.

I don’t know if you’ve heard of this, but fun socks are a big deal in our house, so a particular color sock for each family member doesn’t work for us. Instead, we put a safety pin in one of the socks when we wear them and then when we take our socks off, we pin them both together before putting them in the laundry. That way one sock doesn’t get lost. You could also use different colored safety pins to show which socks belong to each person.
@kamioltman84715 жыл бұрын
