Yes! Organized can be messy! I love this! We have 3 under 3 and run an organic farm…I don’t have time to fold all of our clothes..everything has baskets or buckets for storage. The baskets are great for clothes because the kids can put their clothes away and the buckets are great for tools on the farm because we can grab them and go!

I love the bins inside the drawers! I do that both in my bathroom but also my... junk drawer! Who says a junk drawer has to look junky? I have a bin for batteries, screwdrivers that fit the toys we have inside, chip clips. If I put my bins just right then I have designated areas for tape, scissors, rubber bands etc. This has worked really well for at least 4 years now. And bonus- my drawer always opens and closes without issues!

Hi Jordan, I absolutely love the lower drawers for the children's dishes. I also love the black+ white socks. That will work for adults too. I think my favorite is baskets in the drawer separating brushes etc. The separate bags for clips, etc are brilliant. Thanks so much!

@@msfeistybabeNot everyone but you can re arrange baskets or containers. Plus one less box to purchase to pack when you move 🤷♀️
@msfeistybabe2 жыл бұрын
@@silvia98leon Oh I know, I'm just thinking of the times when I've ended up in a smaller area (like moving from a house to an apartment for a year due to work) and having way less space with smaller drawers & cabinets/shelves. When that happens you end up with lots of nice organizational baskets/containers that just won't work anywhere & get shoved in the closet/under the bed or in a storage unit until you move to a bigger place. You can also sell/donate/give away if you need to, but it does happen. I've moved way too many times in my life so far & no matter how organized I am, I always end up having to buy more stuff to re-do things after moves!!

Love the more realistic version of organisation. My fav is KALLAX cubes in kids bedrooms, rather than drawers. Again, they are low down, and they are big deep boxes for my kids to chuck his clothes into. I used to have a drawer for tops, a drawer for pjs, a drawer for socks/tights/pants/nappies, a drawer for jumpers, one for trousers. Now I literally have one for tops at the top cube, and one for bottoms at the bottom cube. So everything my little one will wear on his top half - tshirts, long sleeves, hoodies, jackets, jumpers etc is all in one bucket, and joggers, jeans, leggings etc is all in the other :) so much easier for me and them.

I already leave folded socks by the kids shoes and I reserve an outfit to quickly get out the door because I've learned it saves so much time and I don't have to have them change if I already set matching clothes on a "stand by" shelf. But the kid's drawer is something I didn't think of doing that makes so much sense! Thank you for all of your tips Jordan. Love your personality!💖

This is just what I need, and can I say I am so super impressed by how well you organize with ADHD. I just learned this last year that that's been what has caused so many problems since I was a child. Because I have inattentive ADHD I never realized it could even be an issue because I didn't have the hyperactive type. Organization and cleaning is so hard for me. Along with consistency in basically anything. With 7, soon to be 8 children in a very small home it's sometimes just a nightmare. Functional organization is what I am looking for.

I think the charging station and kids drawers in the kitchen are the best. I would leave the charging station door open during the night to allow even more air to circulate and to avoid any heat build-up as well. I've always been wary about Rakuten, simply because of the online purchasing aspect. I'll still have to do research on them though.

One thing I did was pick up 3 old entertainment centers that I got for free from Facebook marketplace. I was able to repurpose 2 of them into mudroom organization cubbies with hooks for jackets and backpacks as well as allow the lower cabinet space to be holes for shoes. The third entertainment center I made into a game storage with a built in dart board cabinet. Maybe this inspires a few people who want to do cheap organization for their kids at the door.

Jordan, your tip for socks has saved me a lot of drama over the years! We do allow some socks occasionally that are not white and same size but mostly our whole family (my teen boys and me) use ONE size of white socks. If they are out of them at dollar tree, we don't buy them 🤷♀️you are also SO right about not just buying bins because they are cheap! I have a ton of dollar tree bins that are just not working for us. Once we move house, we are going bigger and I think that you really do need to start with the budget you have for awhile but eventually, investing in good bins that are going to be better fit is a must! I'm moving in May so trying not to go crazy buying bins until then and just work with what we have but it is a challenge! The bins are just too small to keep organized all the time. For toiletries I've switched to shoebox Tupperware and it is so much better than the cute little ornate dollar tree bins I just had to have 🤦♀️
