Bucket list is also a good idea for older kids who have to write a summer report on their favorite thing they did. Every. Year. And when they come to you and say, I don’t remember, you have a list to choose from.

Hey Jordan! I've been using your bucket list idea for about a year now and we absolutely love it. It gives the kids something to look forward to and a feeling of accomplishment when we get to check those things off. I've also been using your clipboard system but instead of a clipboard, I draw up cute grids for my kids and tape them to the wall. Every day they have a chore and a zone to take care of before they can do anything else and it has really taught them the importance of responsibility. I have really seen a difference in my kids since I've implemented my chart system and it's all thanks to you. Let's be real, we all don't know what we're doing when it comes to mothering our children. But it's so nice that we can come together and learn from one another and raise the best children that we can. Thank you so much Jordan for sharing your amazing ideas with us. I will pass them on and hopefully help more clueless mothers like myself.

I nannied 7 kids one summer. My greatest tip is a schedule. They had 30-90 min in the morning to watch TV or whatever, but then it went off for the rest of the day. Breakfast, and cleaned up by ______. Then chores. Then the errands -- this one had band camp and this one had violin lessons, and we went to the library once a week. Lunch, outside time. They were all too old for a nap, but they had to read for 90 min (and if they fell asleep, great!). That schedule is the only thing that saved my sanity that summer! -- Jordan, I do want to mention: you shouldn't keep sunscreen in the car. It gets to hot, and then the sunscreen disintegrates and won't protect you. Also, it has an expiration date, although with 6 little ones, you probably don't have any left at the end of the summer! Love the idea of a bucket list, too.

I was skeptical about the clipboards because I was thinking ugh one more thing to monitor and stay on top of and it'll take all this time to create it but my kids have been out on summer break since SECOND week of MAY ( !!!!) and I should have downloaded your clipboard but I made my own and it's been great!!! They love checking things off and having a routine and staying on task. I love that they're helping me out and I'm not having to nag them to pick up their dirty clothes, etc. Genius! Thank you so much! I have done a version of your snack system for over a year and I love that too!

I completely agree about bunk beds !!!! Best and worst .. mainly the worst !!! Making up bunk beds is horrible !!!! I use a step stool to help make up the beds - I say step stool .. it’s more like a mini ladder !!!! - yea to the snack drawer !! People thought I was crazy for that .. ahaha ha who’s crazy now 🤨 !!! See !!! From one big family to another!! We know what we need !!! Only thing different we do is we keep a towel for everyone and ground Matt .. to many kids around the same age who have I love you so much let’s share everything .. than we have days OMG your breathing my AIR !!!! M-O-M !!!! Summer car basket : Swim suits - towels - sun screen Snacks - water bottles Hair bag ( spray bottle hair ties brush ) - lip chap - face wipes - sanitizer - first aid kit Baseball with gloves and two bats ( again we have days where we can’t share ) football - soccer ball - cones ( run drills ) Garbage bag ( you never know ) and 1 pair of shorts and t shirt for everyone !! ( again .. you never know ) And baby has his own emergency bag attached to the seat in front of him Diapers Wipes Bum cream Soother 2 outfits Chair pad Bottle and bottle of water and a container of formula Yes we drive a Van lol

I only have two kids but for our summer snacks, each kid gets a snack bin and each morning they are allowed to pick one item from each category (chips/pretzels, juice box, yogurt/cheese, crackers, etc) to add to their snack bin. They can get anything they want from their snack bins whenever they want but once the snack bin is empty, that’s it for the day. (Fresh fruit, veggies and water are unlimited though and ready for them to grab and go) my girls love the independence and it works really well. Love your refrigerated drawers!

Hi Jordan the chores sticks ( i learn from you 🤗 ) is the only thing is working for my daughter 11 years old. She is doing it because for each chore ( i made ten for now, most important for her to complete ) she is getting one euro. Yes. She is doing them better then her dad 😁😁😁 and she really wants a polaroid camera and i tell her she needs to work for it. About the survival summer bag, i am the only mom who's going on the beach, picnic or out somewhere with all the closet,oh yes. You can find in my bag anything ( my friends are laughing, but i am the secure mom, even if i have one kid. Love all the hacks you share. Hugs 🤗😘

My children are grown - but love these ideas for "future" grandchildren. My Mom used to do chores for us similar to this - she would write the chores on small sheets of paper, fold them up and we would draw them from a jar - really helped us to get excited about helping - we would do the chore and run back to draw another from the jar.

Yes, LOVED all these ideas! We homeschool our kids all year round...24/7....no paid breaks...ever...but love it and wouldn’t trade it for the world! Loved the popsicle chore/bored activities idea! We also keep a summer survival kit in the car! Another thing I oddly pack (and sometimes forget) is extra socks. Never fails, my kids are wearing flip flops and we get invited to an indoor bouncy house place, while out and about, that always requires socks (and makes you pair $10 a pair for theirs 🙄). So yeah, socks! I’m soooo checking out your lunch/snack system because that’s a challenge when we homeschool, too, is thinking of lunch ideas/systems. You look fab! God bless you❣️

A neat idea without messing with dry erase markers: binder clips on the side of the board! Just flipping the tab back and forth to mark if it's done or not! That way you can still use the same paper forever, and don't need to mess with erasing!

I found the bucket list and chore charts the week my kids got on summer vacation a couple weeks ago. Game. Changer. It has been amazing. You are so real and fun. I'm glad I found your channel. The only hack I have at the moment is for 2 toddlers and an infant. A pattern for the day changes everything. I used to call it a schedule but I don't put length of time on each activity, except nap times. If they know what to expect next and exactly what they are expected to be doing right now, we all have slightly more stable moods and we enjoy each moment a little more because we're not stressing about when things will get done and how.

Doesn't it!!! Much healthier and easier to manage, good to give your hair a break from extensions or intense heat styling from flat irons or curling tongs. The more natural the better, your hair will thank you! Good quality hair products make all the difference too. They're expensive though so l shop around, often my Stylist offers products at the Salon l can source cheaper online. When you use them everyday it can mean huge savings. 🌿🌺

I always keep gallon and quart size ziplock baggies in my car for those that get motion sickness. You can keep the smell contained even when you don't have time to stop by the side of the road. I love the new look! My daughter's bed is a loft bed so also super hard to make. So we use a fitted sheet and then a 100% cotton sleeping bag on top for bedding. When the summer comes, I take out the inner... Inner... Warmth comforter thing, and then use the sleeping bag shell. We have two so that I can wash one and store it in the plastic case so it stores under the bed :) In fact, I used the same sleeping bags as her crib bedding as well (ie, just the sleeping bag, no mattress). Her crib had a bamboo net frame so it was more even and soft than a slats+wood panel on top bed.

Hi Jordan, I loved this. Thank you. I keep a summer survival box in our car too - a couple of other things we keep in there are a change of clothes for each kid, a bucket and spade, a picnic blanket and we never go anywhere without their scooters (we only have two kids so that's doable for us!) I would LOVE more videos like this!

$250 for kids bedsheets?!?!? It’s a great concept and would make mornings much easier but not worth the price for me. Hopefully I can find a cheaper alternative or maybe even a pattern to make my own. Thanks for the tips. These will work all year

They have a BOGO during memorial weekend, and maybe more than one time a year. Saving my bucks to buy then.

Great video! Love the haircut, great length for you. My best tip for the summer, since I live in the hot desert, is to pack a cooler with ice packs and water whenever you leave in the car. A sun hat, water, and umbrella could be the difference between life and death if you get stuck on the roadside in the extreme heat. Like you say planning is the determining factor of almost any endeavor. My other tip is to bring your insulated bags and coolers into the grocery store with you and carry the food out to the car in them. In the desert heat food can spoil just getting into the car, if you have multiple stops to make coolers with ice packs are a must. Can't have the baby kale rotting!

As someone that got carsick any time we went anywhere when I was a child, the gallon ziplock bags were genius! My dad always kept wet wipes, emergency toilet paper, and a couple extra bags in a bag. That way if someone does vomit and you can't throw it away quickly, it can seal! Not a mom yet, but good luck out there and may the odds be ever in your favor! :)
