@Nettamorphosis did you not watch the video? That is irrelevant and shouldn't be in your mind. I dont claim labels, especially when there's two of them, since I define myself as much more complex than that and think these labels are only useful for politicians. You should see people as who they are, not what category they may fall under.

@@KaijuJeshi The point of this video wasn’t that you shouldn’t categorize yourself but that you should understand how foreign & domestic forces capitalize on categorizations & use them to further polarize us. My comment was that I think Jordan is a unique mind, even though we are on opposite sides of the political spectrum, which is well within the spirit of unity espoused in this video.

Correct, he really lost me on that one. The "people she chose to have on stage" wasn't a product of a change in values, it was a selection of members of demographics who her handlers think can be swayed into voting for her. If you live in California for any length of time, you'll see politicians vacillating as regularly as the change of the seasons. That's just how she's done things all her life. If she were campaigning in California now it'd be absurd to suggest that her "evolved" values would be what she'd be manifesting.

This was a brilliant discussion. Gregg Hurwitz has been doing some great work with these surveys. He went a little too easy on Harris in my opinion, I think she is simply trying to appear more moderate to win votes. Never forget, Harris wrote a letter of congratulation to the 200+ strong gang of bullies who hounded Riley Gaines off campus when the latter was giving a lecture about the need to keep biological males out of women's sport. Riley Gaines mentioned this when Dr Peterson interviewed her last year. The results of Gregg's surveys are encouraging and it is time that the strong centre takes over again. I also think everyone would feel better if they spent less time on social media, and I'd argue that smartphones should be kept away from anyone under the age of 18. Thanks for this fascinating discussion.

You know, Dr. Peterson, this makes me think of that incredibly wholesome and somewhat adorable incident a couple weeks back, when President Biden was kidding around with an old fella and put on THE red hat, on a lark. It made me smile; two old farts shooting the breeze about getting old. And then it made me sad. Because I’m not young anymore but I’m not an old woman either, and I remember a time when politics were not as bitterly polarizing as they are today. And that funny incident with the hat reminded me of it. I’ve got an essay teasing the back of my mind about this, entitled something like, the kind of America I want my children to grow up in. I wasn’t sure what to make of Trump back in 2016. I didn’t know his policies or how he would govern, and my candidate was Dr. Carson. I was indifferent to him in 2020. And now I love him and will vote for him all day long and twice on Sunday because of how much he has changed and been changed by the hero’s journey he has been on. I think every generation has an image in their mind of their Mr. President. Mine was a very noble picture of George Bush Sr. on the cover of a Highlights magazine when I was a kid. I’m too young to remember Reagan. And the image my children will carry all their lives is the image of Trump against the American flag, blood running down, fist raised. They ask me about it rather often. And that image symbolizes all America. I do think that what we have here is so precious, and that while I hope and pray we don’t lose it, I think we have to be scared badly enough that we could lose it. Because then we will, indeed, Fight, fight, fight. With Ruth Anne’s love ❤

The first US President I can remember is Nixon and of course the Watergate scandal. It was all re-hashed not long afterwards in the TV series "Washington Behind Closed Doors" with Jason Robards as the President, a brilliant Robert Vaughan as the Chief of Staff, Cliff Robertson and a strong supporting cast. I've yet to find it online, we loved it in the UK back in 1976 or 77 when it was first shown. The joke about Gerald Ford was that "he couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time". The satirists in the UK mocked Reagan for having been an actor, but I thought he was a good President on the whole. He and our late Queen Elizabeth II got on very well and shared a love of horses. The assassination attempt on Reagan in 1981 had a serious effect on his cognitive function because he lost a lot of blood and his brain went without oxygen for a while before he could be stabilised, he was nearly 70 at inauguration. I think the Trump-Vance-Kennedy-Gabbard-Ramaswamy combination could do good things for the American people and I hope they win in November.

Many people are frustrated because it feels like the government is eroding the value of our money through inflation. It’s disheartening when hard work seems to matter less. If people knew their efforts would pay off, they might feel less stressed and more motivated. But rising costs also fuel social division, as people search for someone to blame. Instead of holding the government accountable, we turn on each other, fueled by social media algorithms and political divides

@@Marcustheseer so I have never really understood or agreed with statements that postmodernism is causing any real problem with our belief system because I think most of our values that hold up our world view are intact - some even say are spectacular. It's a matter of depth and layers. This video makes me realize that postmodernism is affecting a problem at a layer above the core values and world view, namely, narratives. Narrative is on going and we can't rely only on old ones, so they have to be constantly created in the present. The answer to your question of how can we have a correct world view if postmodernism is deconstructing the narrative to bits, it's a world view and set of values that we have and hold and use regularly, but do not talk about. Postmodernism is causing us not to speak and write about our values that we have and use. It's a layer above, a layer where we apply belief systems, not in practice, but in speech only.

He's (Hurwitz) has his own mental bulletin list that he's going through. He's not presenting himself as his fully genuine self. He's obviously got an agenda, but everyone does. He's seemingly trying to ride the line between marketing and being vague enough to avoid making any definitive statements that might affect his analysis think-tank group (while still presenting his contributions to the discussion). 1. Even a cursory knowledge of the history of the US Government is more than enough to distrust it. HR-4310 signed by Obama made domestic propaganda legal. 2. Between two or more camps having irreconcilable differences, or one of the camps outright refusing to have a discussion with the another camp for whatever reasoning - I'll take the latter, as long as the other camp agrees to leave my camp the fk alone, as opposed to the other camp wanting my camp dead. 3. Compromise eventually deteriorates to the point that both camps end up unhappy regardless of how much benefit was to be had. Main overarching problem is that everyone thinks they're the ones who are morally right/objectively correct.

It's absurd to claim that any criticism of the Jewish people should 1) be labeled antisemitic, and 2) necessarily indicate social collapse. That's nonsense. There are valid critiques to be had about the actions of Israel, as well as the Jewish people as a religiously motivated group, especially given their fundamentalism on subjects of human behavior and morals.

Churches should focus on community Churches are already poised to help people form a community. But their absession is to focus on bringing people to god. If we can get them to refocus and work on creating community, if people want to embrace god they would be more willing to. How can churches focus on community? If they work with their local neighborhood and organize events for that neighborhood, like picnics or BBQs or yard sales. Those kinds of events will bring the neighborhood together into a community. Second level after creating the community is to offer their services to help people. AA meetings are already provided by churches. Offer martial counseling, helping deal with delinquent kids, help with arguing neighbors, etc. Don’t push the religous aspect of the church onto the people. Let the people come to you about the question of god. If the church helps people work together and make friends, the people that want to will already be open to exploring god. If we could get churches to focus on this, it will fix a lot of these issues that were discussed. Because people that form bonds have a higher resilience to outside influence.

freedom of speech: the ability to speak one’s mind without fear of RETRIBUTION. Normally, freedom of speech is dependent on the prevailing governmental rules, at least at the public level. In private, freedom to speak one’s mind, is entirely contingent on the rules of the particular house or institution in question. Freedom of speech does not negate the CONSEQUENCES of one’s speech. In order to give one example, if a child berates his father, obviously, he ought to be punished for that sinful deed. In order to propose another example, a genuine king will permit his subjects to criticize his actions in a constructive manner, as long as they refrain from deliberate insults, which is a criminal offence (see Chapter 12 of "A Final Instruction Sheet for Humanity"). A large proportion of humanity seems to agree that one should refrain from speaking words that incite violent acts, and that one ought not yell the word “Fire!!” in a crowded room or auditorium, purely as a practical joke. Those who believe that free speech should be totally unconditional, will not be able to sustain that opinion if his or her children spout insubordinate speech, as in the first example. So, to put it very succinctly, just as it is possible to execute immoral acts (that is to say, bodily acts such as theft, fornication, public obscenities, and murder), it is possible for a human to make verbal enunciations that are objectively immoral, far more than just those actions normally recognized by most jurisdictions, such as libel and slander. Any speech that is contrary to the principles of dharma, is unethical, and must be punished by a superior - again, few parents would excuse a child of theirs who belittled, insulted or even instruct them! Read Chapter 12 to learn the most authoritative interpretation of law/morality/ethics [“dharma”, in Sanskrit]).

Liz Schwartz: I've discovered that both sides of the American political divide want the same thing. We all want a wonderful life for every American. We only disagree on how to make that happen. This is in part the fault of poor education and in part by a particular group of people on both sides of the isle who wants us divided for their own benefit. That means the best way to tackle the problem is through education, in our schools and for adults. People must understand simple concepts like supply and demand, what happens when you print money, and what individual sovereignty actually means in a western culture. It is amazing, but we have PHDs walking around who are poorly educated. I see this as the main focus, even as we endeavor to win elections, destroy the nanny state, and end forever wars.

Every large society kind of destroyed themself. It mostly happens when there is no unity inside them. A youtuber Whatifalthist makes an argument that a rural, religious lifestyle prevents this while a urban, non religious lifestyle leads to chaos. Supposedly the religious, rural lifestyle is more stable because it affects both sides of our human nature. We want to belong to a bigger group and at the same time have some individuality. This fits very well with the description of the Homo duplex by jonathan haidt in his book the righteous mind. Biases form on the basis of memories and it is scientific proven how easy it is to alter and disrupt them. One example is advertisement which is really similar to TikTok. Charan Ranganath explains this really well in his book Why We Remember: Unlocking Memory's Power to Hold on to What Matters.

Mass media news has almost no audience anymore because everyone knows they are just propaganda. But the major news corp's don't care, they are subsidized with American's tax dollars for any loss of revenue, as long as they stay woke.

completely incorrect on the tiktok front. the reason the algorithm seems so different in western nations compared to others is because tiktok earns its money through advertising. so the goal is to keep people watching so they cycle through more advertisements as they go. and western + eastern cultures are very different. not just in a hemispheric context but even in just a national context between different nations themselves. so of course american tiktok will be different than chinese tiktok. its not subversion. and to claim it that it in fact is subversion is nothing short of ignorance, or maybe even intentional misrepresentation for political reasons china may not allow the same sort of content to be consumed as we do. but the fact that they do allow it in western nations does not mean they're subverting us either. tiktok is simply responding to our culture and referring to it via the algorithm, to keep us watching videos and thus, as I mention above, cycling through ads to generate profit for the company also, I see the exact same kind of content on tiktok as I do on other social mediums that have reels or shorts, including facebook and youtube. does that mean china are subverting us through these companies too? are we to hold our own companies to the same standard we are apparently supposed to hold china to?

The uptalking is quite annoying. That being said, I really appreciate Greg's approach and the attention to detail on the antisemitism. To insinuate the left is returning to the middle in good faith, and not in an attempt to garner votes, after 4 years of headlong, spearheaded march away from the middle to the extremes, is either painfully ignorant or willfully blind. I assume the latter. It's quite apparent, from the primaries, that there is a puppet and a master. The puppet is interchangeable. I'm not sure how one can have such an analytical approach to the antisemitism that he does, and then swallow the "we're going to return to the middle" load? It's quite a gross failure of objectivity or honesty. Listening to Jewish people, women, and Christians on the left try to justify the policies of the left is like listening to priests talk about pedophilia or a conservative try to reason out school shootings. It's okay to admit that things are wrong and need to be addressed rather than try and reason it out to protect your ideology.

Deer Jordan and Gregg I appreciate your effort to bring understanding into the mess we are in, in all quadrants of existence. You have hit the mark sometimes. Nevertheless, you fail to see the level of alienation of being, as the cause of our lopsided development. Jesus was crucified because he turned the table at the temple, where mechanization was taking place and absolute, selling God's favors as if one could buy its self-evolution. Money was the first principle in this population, in direct contrast to Jesus' first principle: the Logos embodiment and its encirclement in the reality of being and becoming. We are now witnessing 2000 years of complete alienation. This situation is now present everywhere-alienation from the Life Principle. It is the lies we are now setting on. How we unwrap this Arianne thread of false development is not easy. Our rebellion from the Life Principle has compromised the true evolutionary principle. Rebellion against absolute truth of self-realisation. If we want to create according to the Life Principle, we must stop killing Life in all we do. This alienation over 2000 years will need a reversion principle which will have to be well understood. The absolute principle that cannot be compromised because it is the nature of being and becoming. It is an absolute principle. In all relationships, in body (our material surface), mind spirit. We must Religare in the relationship of relative truth all the way to absolute truth. Jordan, if you do not want to spend time in reversion, whatever you create will be lopsided. I do not see you doing this work. Your superb intelligence put in service to the absolute Life Principle and now put to a test of authenticity must come from people like you. You are pointing to other countries as being the villains and you, and others will be better off if you point it, where absolute alienation has taken root. It is so evident that ultra-liberalists want to be the master of the world and ignore the process of individual, and personal evolution that each person and country are on, according to their own experience. Absolute alienation of the most powerful countries wanting their model impose to the world at large. Regardless of their point of evolution. This is arrogance to the maximum. God is in the diversity of spirit in people and each nation. It is so relevant today. These countries do not want to take the West as a model of self-realisation. We must respect where they are in their overall development and America should not interfere. Killing people does not work for the evolution of spirit. Styling the material energies for the personification of America does not work for the evolution of consciousness, but is in submission to the personal ego. It is against the Life Principle. As Jesus said” They do not know what they are doing” “God forgive them.” Jordan, you have earned your privileged position, nevertheless it may have rendered you blind to the first principle. I am not against your recommendations as I have myself applied exactly what you recommended, a long time ago, when I realised why the working classes were so easily abused. I studied, nonstop the why and how to get out of this enslavement and came to the same conclusion as you recommended; is to do whatever I can to lift myself up from enslavement. Our alienation is so extensive today that only a huge movement toward Life in full can redress the situation. We need to have peace for that. America must take stock of their misleading ways, or the war to be the way for persuasion. is not how evolution works. America must point the way, we are at such a critical moment, that if we do not take the right bifurcation Life itself is a compromise to a point of no return for our present civilisation. The visibility of our alienation is seen by a large group of people (30%). America must take the lead in interior development; the Qualia of interiors development, and maybe could lead the way in this adventure. Never forget that God wants absolute diversities

I appreciate this guys optimism on the DNC I think in a better world that’s what that would mean but she has flip flopped on several issues and to my experience the majority of of low information voters default democrat because it’s trendy if she truly believed the more moderate positions she would try to put those things in action now while the Biden/harris still has guaranteed office but she doesn’t all of her actions say that she’s still going to be just as extreme propaganda driven and wielding different government branches as a political weapon

Lately I've been finding myself on the far opposite of the "Everything is Political" spectrum and believe that basically nothing is political or at least anything that doesn't involve politics isn't political. That may seem extremely obvious, people have literally made their political alignment a part of their core identity and therefore assuming that's true for everyone and therefore assume that everything they do is an aspect of their political identity. While politics cover things that most people care about, those things aren't inherently political in and of themselves. Believing whether or not puppies are cute are rarely ever going to be come in a political debate, unless it becomes such a hot-button topics that politicians will make that a part of their campaign, but the believe itself is not political. I'll even argue that famous hot-button issues like religion and economics aren't inherently political, just things every human throughout time cares deeply about, so those are going to be the most major things politicians are going to target because they want votes. I'll even go so far to say that humans by their very nature are apolitical and saying stuff like "I'm x-wing" or "This person is y-wing" isn't an accurate way to describe yourself and others since the very definition of those things can change on a dime. We say that we shouldn't put people into boxes but then somehow ignore this when it comes to arbitrary political categories that are irrelevant unless you're literally running for office. You can't automatically assume that someone is homophobic or against immigration because they believe in gun rights, or that they're somehow a contrarian because they have multi-faceted beliefs that don't always follow the box you put them in. I honestly believe we should try to refrain from throwing words around like "political", "wing" or "party" as much as possible and those words are slowly starting to lose their intended meaning.

1:44:36 the issue here is policy and not law and if the gentleman were a legal scholar he'd know that wearing a face covering and acts of violence or acts of malicious intent are not the same thing and that after they've thrown a physical object with malicious intent then asking them to remove their disguise would be very impractical as well as difficult to codify into law. Here ye here. I don't get the issue with Canadian government policy requiring women to remove their face covering. When a woman is getting an i.d. card, they are being photographed by women or by professionals. Like a gynaecologist. But to tell all the muslim ladies that they have to remove a face covering for a citizenship party feels to me like we're not respecting the freedom of religion and the freedom of speech. The confusing part is really how the conversation starts with telling us that conservative education is less competitive than other forms of media and that children are unable to learn to distinguish right from wrong because the American people are not doing a good enough job raising teenagers. Are you going to get back to funding and innovation around youth development programs or just focus on getting girls to take off their clothes?

1:52:51 just before a new thought is expressed ... why do you need to pass a law? have you presented on your efforts to cooperate with social media companies and whether your motives are clear or on disputes that arose from your communications with social media companies and especially if there were meetings and consultations held and where information particularly algorithms were discussed? -- where an AI referee would flag content and express how the content was connected to streams of content with similar intent and are related to certain content types that are proposed to be shadow banned to some extent which can be publicly argued by [clicking this link]. why wouldn't the tech companies self regulate? Was an interesting watch. Starting by calling out the "Bad International Actors" and you don't include the USA or Israel is an odd one to be honest. America is the largest state sponsor of terrorism globally. No other nation in my life time has been responsible for more war, suffering and death than the USA. And it isn't even close. The immagration crisis in my country of Canada is caused in large part due to the USA destabilizing and destroying country after country around the globe. If the USA stopped trying to control the entire world, we'd all be much better off. And far safer.
