I just don't need my refrigerator to have wifi and talk to my phone. I'd rather that money was spent on making the item more reliable. I enjoy your channel, thanks.

How fun would it be to upgrade the firmware?
@kokovox3 ай бұрын
More reliable means fewer features - no ice maker or water connection would make it more reliable. However, customers prefer features and convenience.

Awesome content! This is an excellent video. Thank you for sharing. BTW your refridgerator just texted me, there is some more hidden plastic that needs to be removed.😂 If I knew where the wifi card was located in my soon to delivered unit, I would remove it.

This is why I told my wife our fridge shouldnt have a cell phone at this age. Texting strangers… I apologize …

Nice review, you didn’t mention how consistent and/or accurate the unit maintained temperature assigned vs actual temp from your independent thermometer. If you have that info it would be appreciated, curious if the 2 compressor unit keeps temps better regulated

Just setup Home Connect for my new 800 Bosch refrigerator and didn’t have any issues at all. The appliance was found within 20 seconds and the whole WiFi setup was done in under one minute. They must have updated the setup process OR better router might have helped in my case.

One thing I noticed with water dispenser is that during initial 5 minutes the valve didn’t close instantly and there were few drops from the dispenser once the bottle was removed. However after few minutes that went away - I think the system has to build up pressure in the lines to make water cut off work as intended

A Great Video presentation Jordan. This Bosch Fridge is on our Radar (actually a different 800 Model w/o the middle drawer). A few things to clarify or enlighten. I saw fingerprints left on the surface as you were Prepping the machine. Isn't the SS finish Fingerprint resistant Brushed SS?; Can The middle drawer be used for food? The one I saw on line [not sure it was the same model Number] shows it to be a wine Cooler drawer ? I don't need that. Why did the Ice clump uplike that? FYI, your reference to LGs and Samsungs is probably not a good comparison ....Both have early Failure rates per reviews on Line and LG is under a Class Action lawsuit for a poor product. Did you tak the Extended Warranty? I would for sure. The other competitors we are looking at to replace our 27 yo Sub Zero (freeezer Drain Tube integral in the right side wall is broken causing it the freeze up !! and The Ice Maker is Kaput.) is a Kitchen Aid and a Whirlpool. Both have Bruhed SS finnish - no fingerprints. On another note, a Whirlpool dishwasher purchased new about 4 years ago - we did take the 5 yr extended warranty offered by P.C Richards Appliance store. After about 1 year, there was upper dishrack issue - a design flaw that was repaired with a new part and just 2 months ago, I detected a rubber gasket seeming to deteriorate / flake apart. When i called PC Richards - they came and ordered a whole new drain / filter module for he floor of the DWasher. The gasket is part of that. The repair Tech - 15 years on the job - told me I was very wise to get the extended warranty. All major appliances are Nowhere near the older quality levels of just 10 - 15 years ago!! For any maker.

Update, Based on this review....We Bought one to replace our 29 year old Sub Zero Model 550. WE decided on this Model with the second middle Drawer. Got it Saturday Dec 2, 2023. It is VERY QUIET !! We had it delivered with a full setup by P.C Richards a major Appliance store here in the NYC area. They took away the Sub Zero ( a big Built in installed in 1994.- a heavy Sucker). Took about 1.5 hours in total to complete the removal and new Bosch setup with Ice maker (fortunately we had a Copper tubing setup with the Sub zero. The electrical cord is 91" long, so that was able to reach the electrical outlet that was located in the upper corner of the backwall for the SZ model. Of Particular note - You are asked to run about 2 gallons of water through the Water dispenser B4 You use it AND two full buckets of Ice, probably to be sure any chemical remnants in the equipment. We turned up the Freezer to -2 Degrees which seemed to quicken the ice making. Now we need to accommodate the 12" above the 72" Bosch. My wife smartly decided to keep the SZ top grille which is about 11 1/2 inches tall. We will use that for the time being to cover the Gap. It does protrude out form our existing Built Out (24" cabinet depth of the SZ - but not too bad. Spending upwards of $15K for new SZ did not make Financial Sense (but they are attractive machines and have a longer warranties. BTW, we took the 8 Year PC Richards Warranty which I was able to Haggle together with the total price (it is a typical charge of $640 for 8 years). All in with the 8 year warranty , taxes[8.5%] , delivery / take away was about $3,650 . And I took advantage of their 12 Month 0% financing on the sale.

The connection of the electrical plug was shown in detail. It was mentioned also that the fridge was in another room for a kitchen renovation and the water was not connected.

Lol..yes..that Wifi password issue was a doozy..it cost me a lot of time..love the refrigerator and app though..the shopping list is very well designed, I staggered the shelf heights and placed my eggs on the little bin that attaches to the flex bar.
@peter37288 ай бұрын
thanks for the review. will the app notify you if the fridge fails? Im thinking of buying one for our second home and it would be great if there is a problem that im notified so i dont show up to my place with a fridge full of rotten food.
@retrotechandelectronics7 ай бұрын
It does show the temperature for both but we did not bring the temp out of spec to see if it alarms though. The app says push notices for impaired appliance functionality as an option

Wait a minute didn't say that was over $3k and you have to assemble it to. No, I'm not doing all that. Where are the men to do all of that? My fridge is over 30 years old all that looks complicated.
@retrotechandelectronics4 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t say assemble. More like install the shelves how you want to.

Our B36CL80ENS counter depth Bosch fridge was just installed. The controls on the Cool fresh compartment drawer are not lighting up and we cannot figure out how to control them. Does anyone know if they can only be controlled via the app? As I watch your video, I see the lights are on when you pull out the Cool Fresh Compartment; ours are NOT lit up. Any advice would be appreciated.

That does not sound like normal operation. Consult the company you purchased from for repair or return
