Good training partner. I'm always nervous seeing really big dudes roll but he seems very technical and cognizant of where you're at and not hurting either of you with the sheer mass. What a unit. You got some balls trying to shoot on him knowing all that is gonna come crashing down on you.

I was hoping that you would have used the quad pod breakdown that we did on the instructional. Big man…makes you second guess a lot when you’re on top. Everything is farther away, lol Also, that peak out looked pretty good, but it’s hard to be mobile with a man that size who also knows how to use his hips. When you had that nice single, you were in decent position to chop the tree down (wrap up both legs). Of course it’s easier for me to say these things when watching in slow motion and not carrying that kind of weight. We can wrestle some more this summer when I come up, brother. You have improved more than you are giving yourself credit for. I can see you chaining together things more in a sequence. Get an uke when I come up there and I can run you through a bunch of sequences. Then you can really level up. It’s been less than a year and you have improved a lot
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu 2 ай бұрын
I gotta practice that more! It's not often I get an opportunity to since rarely do I roll with people who quad pod. Can't wait to train together in the summer! Need you to get me ready for a wrestling tournament 💪💪

@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu hell yeah man! Yeah, that is one of those positions where you need to just keep pressure on him and don’t let his head up. I often put my head. On the back of his to force it down. It makes it harder for him to stand up. Simultaneously I do what we did on the instructional. When someone is that big, it will change things. You probably did the right thing by going for double boots to break him down, since the more time you spend there with the size differential, the better chances he has of getting something to work. I would have gone to the power half if I couldn’t break him down the first way we showed

I always say ur the only "KZbin BJJ' dude that can prob beat me. Were around same age, same size, have similar styles, prob similar amt of time training (I'm a first degree BB, but I had cancer and went to law school so it took me 15 years to get to bb) I would say I have better leg locks because I came up being taught from Danaher's system, and later the Danaher death squad. Anyone closely affiliated was about 5-7 years ahead of the rest of the world as far as leg locks go. I beat ppl in comp I had no business beating because of leg locks. I can def prob out wrestle you too, but outside of those things (leg locks and wrestling) you're prob better everywhere else. Thats my honest assessment, maybe one day we can do one of these, but I like ur stuff, and im glad you didn't let Tyler guillotine you. Off subject: I always wonder if that is Sean Spangler's son? He even looks like him a little? If so, kid came up doing bjj in his diapers, that dude was an OG of no gi.

Every shot needs a setup. Doesn't have to be elaborate, can be a simple push or pull, but you have to wait for the reaction before you shoot. Think of the old game slaps. You never get an initial slap, you have to set it up first. An opponent already committed to a motion cannot defend, plain and simple.

You could do without the word "that" entirely, I think.

@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Nothing serious, just me being the grammar police. "Last time [...] I rolled with Tyler, I found out really quick how fast, explosive, and technical [...] he is." "... and see what adjustments [...] we both made..." Your content is great, and your scripts are good. In my humble (but accurate) opinion, they would be better with fewer "thats" 👌

Hey Jordan, big fan! at what weight discrepancy do you think 🤔 the “oil check” 👉🏽🛢️🍑is appropriate to employ decisively?

I'm confused... did I accidently oil check Jordan? Did he oil check me and I missed it? Are you asking if we should be oil checking each other? Please don't oil check your partners on purpose, folks. Accidental pokes and prods are part of the sport, but if you need that extra leverage you've already lost.

Never ever shoot on a guy who’s bigger. You’re faster and more athletic stick to duck unders, snap down go behinds, under hook throwbys and slide bys going under into a single or double is just a great way to get tired. College wrestler who will wrestle any weight class🫡
