The differences in the versions I have heard of this song is HUGE, it's almost like in stages of the relationship. Jordan's Version is like "Baby please come back, I love you", Hailey's Version is like "I love you, you have to come back, I need you to come back, I will stalk you until you come back," and Finally Candice's is like "I love you but you know what stay with her because she will never love you like I loved you," All three versions are phenomenal and they are beautifully sung but this is what I heard in each. Watch them again and see if you can hear what I hear.

+Christina Marrow, so true! I felt there was something quite fragile and innocent about Jordans performance- like a teen who lost her first love. Hailey's had more fire and anger. Candice's performance was the most controlled. An older woman who had lived the blues too long as was like "I don't need this shit"... No female interpretation can beat Shirley Bassey. But they girls each held their own with such an iconic tune

I like the passionate and sad melody in her performance. But I liked Candice's version much better because she added light and shade to the performance in terms of melodical choices. She simply made the song feel like there was a good beginning, middle and great ending like an amazing story. I also liked that there was some attitude while singing, as if she chose the angry/sad character rather than just sad and broken!

This rendition was the first for British Week on AI. Jordin picked a monster song for a 17 year old and nailed it. It has been sung on AI and embellished upon. Candice's version was truly unique and fit her voice. Just like Jordin's voice was great for this song. Both women won AI and we can see why as they both earned it.. Love them both. Great song when it came out many years ago.

Actually, this is originally an Italian song titled Uno Dei Tanti by Joe Sentieri. He is the first ever singer to have recorded it and that was in 1961. Then came all the other versions (Spanish, English, Dutch, etc.). Tom Jones and Dame Shirley Bassey are the two powerhouses of this song on two sides of the Pond. And the incredible Dame Shirley Bassey recorded it as early as 1963.
