This is so gorgeous. However, for me, every single note in this piece is a vehicle for the melody. I feel that Bolet more successfully shaped the melody in his Decca recording. And by “more successfully,” I mean - perfection.

I can see your point on performance. I just like the sound of the Baldwin recordings so much, the engineer E. Alan Silver did masterful work (he was the person behind Connoisseur Records.) I wish it was possible to put up the exact sound I get when I listen to the LP .

This particular recording has not come out on CD yet. The more familiar recording is on Decca CDs, and I believe there is another version Bolet recorded on RCA.
