And please is this also possible if a chin forward shift has been already done? After my chin forward shift the Mentanismuscle had sadly not been fixed correctly so I ended up with a much lower lip then before. Can this be also fixed during the Treatment through the respositioning of the Maxilla? Could the plan also include covering more fully the lower teeth? Thank you very much!

@@creativemindloveworks The need (or not) for orthodontics will be assessed during a first consultation. For some patients it can be avoided, but for most, it is absolutely necessary. Yes, it can be done even if you already had work done on your chin. We do not do absorbable screws, we use titanium screws to fix the bones and these can be removed on a second surgery if the patient wants to have them removed, without affecting their result. Yes.

bimaxillary surgery is simply the procedure of moving both the maxilla and mandible. The maxilla can be moved forward, backwards, left, right (for asymmetry), rotated posteriorly, anteriorly etc. It is not just forward exclusively. In this man's case yes it was moved forwards and probably down so that the maxilla can match the already forward position of the mandible whilst the mandible was set back.
