Regarding your slogan, I want to add what I learned from a wonderful dentist/Diplomat of the Board of Oral facial Pain, Dr. David Grauer, 20 years ago: “lips closed, teeth apart, tongue parked (on the roof of the mouth)”. I’ve been doing it for so long its second nature!

GUYS I FINALLY FOUND THE SOLUTION TO WHY I WAS CLENCHING MY TEETH WHILE SLEEPING! It was revealed to me that the style of pillow I was sleeping on had a curve on the edge, so when that curve was putting a little pressure on my Jaws I was clenching my teeth while sleeping it was so bad! So what I did was to sleep on a flat pillow instead and now no more teeth clenching while sleeping! Glory to Jesus for revealing this to me while I was praying 🙏 Hope this helps someone

Night guards are horrible especially if your teeth are crooked! It caused them other teeth pin! I’m Clenching night and day, got a noise popping in the jaw when chewing , sensitive teeth, nerve damage fillings bending and falling out. Nobody offer anything else than guards. now I’m connecting the dots - always having “allergies” have to breath mouth only- because my nose is blocked. Or using one nostril only. Thanks for the info!

Great advice. I came across this video looking for best TMD sleep positions. Interestingly the question at the beginning prompted a no from me. Over the years I trained myself to be self aware by resting the tip of my tongue behind my lower teeth with lips together. It really helps. My issue is when I sleep.

Thank you for doing this video and for all the helpful information! I've been struggling with clenching my jaw without me evening knowing for years and through the night. I recently did physical therapy for it and it helped somewhat open my jaw more without pain but of course i still clench at night undoing the therapy also I wear a "sleep right" mouth guard because I have braces now and i needed something to lessen the effect of my clenching without getting in the way of my braces which will soon be off and i can get a better guard until my body learns to stop clenching at night. I haven't been tested for sleep apnea I feel like it's something to look into to rule out all the issues I'm having with TMJ.

I'll give you my advice as a woman with bruxism. Go see an ORL doctor. You need to see if your nose and/or tongue have a problem. For example, a deviated septum or a narrow airway can cause bruxism. As for the tongue, a tongue tie can cause bruxism. What I also recommend is taking a sleep apnea test, they give you a machine and you do the test at home. If the test at home isn't conclusive, do a sleep apnea test at a specialized clinic or hospital.

The only concern I have with this would be that it can potentially cause unwanted tooth movement depending on how consistent and how long throughout the day you’re applying pressure to your teeth. Believe it or not, your tongue is very powerful. Unwanted tooth movement can lead to disturbances in the function of your bite and the way your teeth come together. Think about braces, they apply pressure/forces to teeth to move teeth. Your tongue could do the same! If you don’t believe me google image “tongue thrust” and you’ll find plenty of pictures of open bites!

Yet another fail of the medical system. Teeth DO NOT get the attention it needs (another plandemic, or rather, battle of the war). Pulmonologists need to care (but then if people practice "lips together, teeth apart," getting help for their anxiety and underlying issues that precipitate and invite clenching and grinding. etc --- doesn't bring in money for the CPAP, sleep studies, repeats, etc. Also, cardiologists! They need to be talking about the [obvious to me] practice of flossing. And the nutritionists.....the list goes on. Thanks for the video. I learned some more things I can use in educating patients, family, friends and myself! :)

Okay advice doctors but it would be nice 👍🏻 to research the primary cause of teeth grinding. For example. A person who has abdominal pain and teeth grinding. It is highly likely that person has worms which can easily be resolved. Knowing the root cause of why a person grinds there teeth is more important. Yes stress causes as well. But do get to the root of the issue

For years I have had my Right side of my jaw lock occasionally when eating, talking or just yawning. A loud audible Pop. It used to hurt but it stopped hurting after two years or more, then it became annoying. Though I can control it now(This can sometimes come in handy when trying to disgust people😂😂) . I believe it’s cause my jaw is misaligned in some sort of way, or weirdly developed on the right side.. but I think I may have fixed it by keeping my jaw open rather then fully closed, cause it’s gone away but I have it appear at some points when eating. Just wanna see if anyone else had this problem ?
