I noticed for equipment, you're not discussing the space. Such as the tablet or the room, background, etc. As important what you are filming includes the back drop / back ground of the subject is going to be filmed in. Not everyone has a dedicated studio space for these things

I love MotionVFX but it's quite expensive. I've also found some nice titles on Envato Market where you can buy individual items. (Not Envato Elements which is subscription based).

I thought that more/higher ISO means better performance in low light, less noise?
@JorisHermans2 жыл бұрын
No, higher ISO means your camera will be able to "see better" in low light. The sensor beacons more sensitive but the downside is always that it causes more noise. On some cameras it's worse than others of course...

At the beginning of the video you claimed to be making good enough money by making simple videos for clients. What I would like to ask is do you receive those small job offers consistently? In other words, is there always work to do throughthout a year or do you experience dry months also?
@JorisHermans2 жыл бұрын
Well, first of all, I said it's a "large part" of what I make. So, I do a lot of other things but yeah, there's always work to do and right now, I'm not even actively looking like I was in the beginning. It's just a matter of getting the ball rolling and that's the hard part.

Is it possible and wise to shoot a short film using a single camera.
@JorisHermans2 жыл бұрын
Of course. Most scenes in Hollywood movies are also shot with one camera because the adjust the lighting for every angle. So, they do the scene several times and shoot it from a different angle every time with perfect lighting for that angle. Makes sense?

Nice one Joris - How about selling your B-roll on a stock site? Has that rendered you any results? (so far for me, nothing, but I heard others with varying levels of success).
@JorisHermans2 жыл бұрын
I've never tried that but I've also heard mixed things from other videographers and creators who have tried it. Some see no results, some great results. 🤔 If only I had more time to give it a try... 😭😅
@HumblyNeil2 жыл бұрын
@@JorisHermans I'm having a fruitless result personally. I was employed over the past 5 months to film footage around Portugal for a client's YT channel, I used the same footage to sell on stock sites, got zero returns on that, and it's a time consuming exercise. 😞 Thankfully I'm not working for that client any more, it was underpaid.

Could it be maybe that the market for stock footage is just oversaturated?

Why opt for a 35mm lens over 50mm or 80mm for product videography? My perspective is, if a 35mm lens tends to distort details in headshots, wouldn't an 80mm lens be more appropriate for capturing finer product details on video? Just curious, and thanks for any insights!
