You know, I just did my first professional photoshoot at a a motorcycle event. I was brought on as an extra by the event organizer. The two primary photographers didn't show up at all. I was a little weirded out that the best advice you can give anyone is to just show up.

Hey Lizzie! I’m on year 4 since I switched from attempting to be Director to Videographer/DoP. I’m 40 years old, and panicking that I’m too late to make a career. I’ve earned roughly $8,000 in the last 4 years, which while it’s cool that I’ve made money doing what I love, I don’t know how to kickstart my career. People love my reels, but I’m having trouble getting my foot in the door against all these established DP’s and video production companies in my market. :(
