Loving the new intro, but bruh! I already miss you talking in your intro, "Jorphdan here, the ph is silent". That's like your thing, you can't take that away haha.

For Gond I would have called the "Something I Made Earlier" trait something easier to remember and say, like Preparation or something. But outside of nitpicks, this looks really well thought out and made. It's a little more powerful than the original one in Mythos, but you also don't seem to get extra Ability Score Improvements either.
@Nildread4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it interesting. I'm not sure how I feel about the genericness of all their first abilities which is just inspiration. I guess it's nice to try to add mechanics to the inspiration system but I dont know, it feels odd. Maybe it's because the base inspiration would already work that way?

Artificer that's a chef. Fallower of Gond seems fun. Producing food that can take you back to your childhood. Good times. Lol Sorry thats what sprang to mind when you were going over Gond.

Beshaba's ''At The Wrong Moment'' doesn't explicitly say anyone who rolls a 1 on a d20, which is either a typo or a way to punish low damage rolls.

I never noticed this system in Mythic Odysseys of Theros. I'm interested in trying this in my next game, more so with the FR gods.

Great video. More to keep track of as a DM, though? "Oh shit, you guys let that wanderer into your tent during the blizzard and the barbarian that worships Auril didn't say boo about it. That'd be a minus to your piety, barby." Multiplied by any scene for any character worshipping a deity. Dang, I dunno about everyone else but I kick myself after a session for forgetting the boss had legendary resistance and would have auto-succeeded on that disintegrate save. Tracking all the behaviors that every PC might do to cause them to gain or lose piety? Holy hell.

Would definitely like to see something like this for Eberron.

Interesting to see how others approach this. I have players who worship Gond, Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul and adapted the gods in MoT to fit their gods. So I’m definitely going to check this out to compare. One thing I noticed is the +50 option seems weaker compared to in the book. That may be a way to make sure that they aren’t all kind of similar with the +2 to an ability modifier even if you’re maxed. But other than that this seems like a really great way for DM’s to fine tune their own for their players.

I see a few problems with this the most major one being this in theros you can use the abilities either go to your proficiency or equal to whatever the modifier number for the associated status having to spend inspiration on it seems ridiculous and stupid as well as they didn't do that in the original for a reason as not everyone plays with inspiration
@jamesm.85774 жыл бұрын
So this is my first time hearing about the piety system, and frankly it should just straight up replace the cleric and paladin classes.

@aragon6194 жыл бұрын
You guys really don't need to pay for it if you have the theros book... find a god with a similar pantheon or just close enough and tweek the piety rewards and system to fit the god your player has. It's really easy to do by yourself, you can spend 8$ on something actually useful. And if there's no god in theros similar to what your player has just take a random god in theros, look at his/her table and build your own table off that, just change it up to fit.
@Nildread4 жыл бұрын
To be fair $8 isn't much if you're paying for someone to do that for you, for the time. But I personally find the whole use of inspiration a bit strange and I like the theros ones a bit more. So I will probably continue homebrewing my own/making the theros ones fit.
