Very interesting hearing him talk about hitting home runs in different parks. That was fascinating.
@roland758418 күн бұрын
The numbers don't reflect what he's saying though, especially in Griffey's big homer years: 1996 26 at home 23 away 1997 27 at home 29 away 1998 30 at home 26 away 1999 27 at home and 21 away. 1999 is the only year where it really looks like an anomaly and even that is only 6 hr's difference. 1995 was a huge discrepancy at 13 to 4, but he only played in 72 games.

Dutch3k5:. What he was saying about Oakland-Alameda County Stadium was that since it has so much foul territory foul balls that usually went in the stands at most parks were outs there. I think that's what took a lot of homeruns from Miguel Cabbrerra. He's played all those years in Comercia Park which is horrible for homeruns and before that he played at Dolphins stadium. It makes sense in physical sports like football, hockey or combat sports….but baseball man…he should be snitching, cause 95% of the other guys aren’t. Now, when youre talking about combat sports 100% of them are using steroids. So no one is really ‘cheating’ it’s just a matter of who actually gets caught by USADA. Hell Nate Diaz even said it best when asked about Jon Jones using performance enahancers…he literally just said to the reporter ‘who isn’t taking them?’ That’s what a real man does, lays it out for everyone to see rather than pointing fingers at individuals. Is still clear in my memory as if it was yesterday. Wearing a white undershirt with jean overalls and huge $%!kicker work boots. I watched him take a left and proceeded to go on about my day. Later that evening or the next I was talking with a casual friend of mine who worked at or knew someone who worked at the Sheraton who just happened to mention that the A’s were staying there for a weekend series. I'd say Griffey was number one. If it wasn't for the injuries man he would have had 800 home runs.

Oh you mean like when he claimed he ran a 3.9 40 with the Rays in his mid 30s? Doubt me? Go read his book

I hated the Oakland A’s back in the day because they were that good, but it’s nice reminiscing this stuff now.. Definitely a team that brought more interest and buzz to the sport.

Look at the Warriors a couple of years ago. They were on top of the world & everybody “hated” them but Ratings were still through the roof. Oakland is just different. Best city in the world.

I live in Ohio and when I was a kid, Jose was my favorite baseball player, I was 13 years old when the reds swept them in the World Series, my cousin called me to rub it in, I was pissed lol

Imagine Canseco and McGuire playing their entire career at Fenway Park......not only would they each hit 300 homeruns, ok, exaggerating, 75 homeruns each, but the would have each batted 350 or above and setting single season records for doubles as they would have each peppered the green monster......

Griffey went to the Great American Ballpark which was another super hitter friendly park. I don’t think his decline was due to the Skydome. I think it was just age

I disagree, Seattle is not Colorado or KC or Yankee stadium. Its actually a very pitcher friendly ballpark statistically. I agree on the AS park being pitcher friendly also.

Man hearing Mark McGwire, Ken Griffey Jr bringing me back man. Just need to hear Sammy’s name. Frustrating how Vlad treats his employees forces them to ask drug & iffy related questions as he does himself and other stuff but he gets great guests
